• Elephant Kraal Pavilion- the pavilion, used as the royal seat to witness the elephant roundup. It is located in the Tambon Suan Phrik, Amphoe Phro Nakhon Sri Ayuthaya. This kraal was rebuilt in 1988 by the government. It looks like a big cage surrounded with logs from the front center, fencing lines spread out toward to both sides into the forest area. Around, there is an easthern wall made of bricks to the height of the logs. At the back and the opposite side is where the royal seat stands.

 

• BANG PA-IN SUMMER PALACE- Bang Pa-In is one of Ayutthaya's territory. Bang Pa-In became very popular by its royal palace that really attracts foreigners. Actually, there was a riverine island before. When King Prasat Thong became the Ayutthaya's king during1630-1655, he built the chumphon Nikayaram Temple on his family estate. Then, he had a palace built in the middle of the island where he could periodically reside. It was surrrounded by a lake of 400 meters long and 40 meters wide, and the Chumphon Nikayaram Temple are all that remain of King Prasat Thong's construction work at Bang Pa-In Palace that was used as country residence by every Ayutthaya monarch after King Prasat Thong. Later Bang Pa-In Palace was deserted for 80 years when the new capital was extablished in Bangkok. Only during King Rama IV's reign (1851-1868) Bang Pa-In Palace was again visited by kings. King Rama IV lived there and had a house in the old palace in compound. His son, King Rama V (1868-1910) felt impressive of the place, so he stayed there every year and constructed the royal palace as currently seen now. Bang Pa-In Island is located 40 kilometers from the city island of Ayutthaya. To access Bang Pa-In from Ayutthaya, one can go by Phahonyothin Road and make a right turn at km. 35 for 7 kilometers to the Bang Pa-In Palace. It is open everyday between 08:00 am-16:00 pm. Transportation to Woraburi Ayothaya Convention Resort

By Car :

• Alternative I : Take Highway No. 1 (Phahonyothin Road.), and then take Highway No. 32 to Ayutthaya.
• Alternative II : Take Highway No. 304 (Chaeng Watthana Road.) or take Highway No. 302 (Ngamwongwan Road.); turn right to Highway No. 306 (Tiwanon Road.), then take Highway No. 3111 (Pathum Thani - Samkhok - Sena) and turn right at Amphoe Sena to Highway No. 3263 
• Alternative III : Take Highway No. 306 (Bangkok - Nonthaburi - Pathum Thani Road.) then take Highway No. 347

By Bus : Buses run every 20 minutes during 5 am until 7 pm between the Bangkok Northern Bus Terminal (Mochit 2 Bus Terminal) and Ayutthaya's main terminal on Naresuan Rd. The fare is totally 30 baht each and the trip takes around 2hours. Air-conditioned buses operate the same route every 20 minutes from 5.40 a.m. to 7.20 p.m. at the rate of 47 bahts. If the traffic is light, the trip takes 1.5 hours; otherwise it will take two hours.

By Train : There are several Trains to Ayutthaya that leave Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Station approximately every hour between 4.20 a.m. and 10 p.m. The 3rd class fare is 15 bahts for the 1.5 hour trip. There are booth station of Hua Lamphong which present the train schedules. Alternatively, call 0 2223 7010, 0 2223 7020, or 1690.
