Great view of Bangkok

by JT from New Zealand, 8 Jun 05

The view on top level floors was amazing. Room was huge with spacious bathroom. Location okay, although not so good for walking around at night.

Would recommend this hotel to others and will stay there again on my next trip to Bangkok.

We would definitely go back again

by Cheo Keng Chin from Singapore, 18 Jun 05

We had a junior suite with a big bed and a single for the four of us so it was a very comfortable stay. We requested extra pillows and the housekeeping delivered them promptly. The bellboys and the hotel staff were very friendly.

The only thing we were not happy was the swimming pool. My god, it was so small and the water was freezing cold on a hot morning. For a hotel this big, we would think an olympic size pool would be sufficient. My children were very disappointed with the pool and they had more fun playing in the bathtub in the room then the small swimming pool.

The food at the 24 hours coffee house was not very good and there were mosquitoes in the restaurant. The buffet breakfast at the observation deck was sumptuous and the spread was fantastic. The sandwiches at the cake corner was also very good given the discount after 6:30pm.

Perfectly!

by Victoria Dmitrieva from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, 15 Sep 05

Couldn't be better!

This is the best combination: the price and the quality.

What did dislike:

1. An awful breakfast, in every respect. It would be better not to give it at all, than to spoil an impression about hotel.

2. Too strong central air-conditioning on floors, and, unfortunately, in rooms, that does not allow to establish comfortable temperature in room by the local conditioner.

3. The switching-off of power supplies in room on leaving is very inconvenient. It is impossible to charge notebooks, phones, an electric tooth-brush, the razor, etc. Besides it is impossible to heat up room to the necessary temperature as the internal conditioner is switched off too.

4. It would be not bad to repair Reception. For example, the green fabric upholstery of walls leaves unpleasant impression.

5. Illumination and service of swimming-pool ends very early. It is desirable to leave illumination for the night.

6. The prices of a bar of the top floor mismatch quality of the offered menu. It make sense to reconsider the concept of the bar working. It could bring much more profits, but not in such a way.

You must try it..

by Andrea Dutto from Turin, Italy, 14 Sep 05

Really great: big room, excellent service, an incredible breakfast, with a plus no other can give you: the astonishing view on the town. We paid about 2,500 bath for a big room at the 68th floor...good value for the money, I think.

It was okay but too busy a hotel !

by Margaret Kesavan from Singapore, 29 Jan 06

Rooms occupying higher levels appear to have a problem with receiving good signals for the television. We were on the 68th level and could not get to watch any show despite seeking technical assistance.

Room service was a little problematic as some orders were often forgotten.

Not as good as expected!

by Julia from Perth, Australia, 31 Jan 06

The location is quite good, however the entrance is very poor. When I booked I didn’t realise that the first 17 levels are some kind of offices. The reception area does not look inviting at all, very old wooden furniture and old filing system.

The room was very nice, lots of space, big bathroom, very clean and serviced every day in the morning. The breakfast room was shocking. Concrete floor painted with ugly colours, the tables were very plain and also painted with ugly colours. No coffee and tea facilities – you have to be lucky that a waiter walks pass you to serve you some tea or coffee. The food selection was big and the quality quite good, however there seemed to be no ventilation system. After breakfast one would smell after every single dish that got offered and one had to shower again. The bar up the top at the lookout platform was very poor as well. Same concrete floor and the bar was filled with maybe 3 bottles of alcohol.

The staff was very friendly but their English hopeless.

All together, for the price I paid and being the tallest building in Thailand I expected much more!

All is good, but...

by Victoria Samaryanova from Russia, Moscow, 6 Mar 06

GSM Mobile phone worked VERY bad inside. I have tried different mobile operators with the same bad result. Except of this everything was good and fair. Breakfasts were excellent, rooms very comfortable.

We will go back in April 2007

by Marie Larsson from Sweden, 9 Mar 07

It was a marvelous view from the top restaurant. The food was very good and also the breakfast. The shopping in the nearby area was good for my teenagers, the pool was ordinary, The rooms was nice, we lived on the 26th floor. Next time I go there I want to live higher up.

Spectacular views

by Mr Nigel Stevens from United Kingdom, 16 Nov 07

Spectacular views of bangkok, especially at night. Not for the fainthearted tho. The only downside to this hotel is there is no Skytrain within a 20min walking distance so I'm afraid it's tuk-yuk or taxi, which are plentiful in the area.

Pratunam indoor market is located immediately over the road from the main hotel entrance. shopping paradise.
