Budget Place
by Anonymous User from India, 26 Dec 05
Carpet is stained. You stop noticing these things if you are out all day and come back only to shower and crash.
Location is good. About half hour by drive to Siam Square and Th Khao San. Close to a lot of shopping malls.
Hotel is under renovation. So there is that paint smell in the common corridors. About half the floors are closed for renovation. Only two elevators service the remaining 20 odd floors. There are no separate service elevators. So be prepared for long wait times.
Breakfast spread was uninspiring.

Hope you're patient waiting for elevators
by George from Australia, 20 Nov 05
Honestly this place needs to be guttered well I guess it already is. The rooms rather large have kitchenettes with a non functional sink. They reminded us to be best described as an old New York Slum apartment, they really seem like very old flats. If you're single traveller its OK .
Better accommodation can be found walking just around the block at same price ,much cleaner.

We can't wait to get out!!!!!
by Michael from America, 4 Jul 07
The carpet has holes from cigarettes and stains that never has been cleaned. The room smells like cigarette smoke. Nothing is pleasant about staying here. We feel sorry for the money we pay.

Think twice before reserving Baiyoke Hotel, Pattaya
by Frequent Travelllor, 22 Jan 08
Excellent Location, Good view of the beaches.
Disliked:
80% of the staff is unfriendly, rude, discourteous. Administratively very poorly run. Staff is rude & unsmiling. They toss towels at you when you open the door instead of handing it over! When we asked for the bill in room service he wanted us to sign on a blank bill!
Room service boys ask for THB-100/- to warm up packeted foods! The GM was unaware that his staff was charging clients wrongly & pocketing the money!
When they were asked at 9.30 p.m. to warm food they banged the phone down by saying "Service Closed. Good Night"!!
Although, excellent on the face of it it spoiled our holidays! Even the vendors on the beaches are more polite than the Baiyoke Staff.
I have a written apology form a staff member with is name if any of you who would like proof!!
Think twice before ruining your holiday!

Would only suit a short stay
by David from Australia, 7 Jul 05
Anyhow when we first arrived we noted how black our toddler became from crawling around on the carpet in the room. Room was tidy but the carpet was filthy, we requested steam clean as we were to stay for some 21 nights . To my surprise the manager had the room professionally steamed cleaned within the hour 6pm."Impressive!"
First night our bedside telephone rings 10.30pm waking the baby in the process, caller doesn't identify himself just hangs up, we take the phone off the hook but some mechanism rings within it to make you put it back on receiver. Again at 12.30pm phone rings awakening baby, I answer to a sorry sir wrong no. I complain to management to find who the heck keeps ringing to be assured that no more calls will be put through late. Again the following night my wife and child awoken around 11pm as I was out and the male caller says he fancied my wife and would like to meet , my wife rather frightened wanted me to immediately return and again was re-assured by the management that no calls were to be put through. This was to no available as the following night we got 2 more awakening calls and again the forth night. As by this time I've had enough and threatened the management we were going to check out if this continued. Each time we received the call I would phone the switch to find out who the heck was putting the calls through and were they asking to speak to us as the call could have been from home. They don't speak good English and all they seemed to do was repeat your last 3 words, so speaking to staff late is pretty much like talking into a tunnel, you don't get far. We ended up disconnecting the room phones from the wall for the entire duration of our stay, thank God there was no emergency from home.
Other problems was the toilet blocked up quite frequently meaning had to ask housekeeping to come and unblock.
There were some good points too. The buffet breakfast is very extensive and impressive for the first week, soon you realize their down points as it pretty much is the same thing every day, pancakes are always cold, and eggs borderline between runny - to just cooked, many of the dishes that spoused to be hot are cold because they are placed under the air conditioning, restaurant staff are very courteous and friendly.
So ... would we stay again at Baiyoke Suite, I would say the size of the double room suites are good despite that all the kitchenette sinks have been disconnected no running water, rooms are definitely tired, but who can really complain as the rate is excellent value but I think having scoured this Pratunam area thoroughly there are other hotels within close proximity that would give better value for the same rate. And based on what I have seen around here would not stay in Baiyoke suite again least not any more than 3 days and on a low floor.

You won't want to stay when you are leisure travel
by Billy from HKSAR, 9 Feb 06
Room was big (all suite) and you can stay with your father and mother in-law, but you have to sleep at the sofa-bed.
Recommended only for teens as 6-8 persons can stay together, or hard work business staying. Not a good place for leisure travel.
But a good value in that location as price stays.
