An cheap and affordable hotel if you are not someone who's in Bangkok for shopping and one who's not extremely fussy about the outlook and living condition of the hotel as long as it's clean, well, basically.

Bangkok City Inn is located VERY near to Central World and is about 5 mins walk from Big C and 10 mins walk from Pratunam market. Very convenient as the hotel is in a very central location. Way out from the hotel to the main road is a LITTLE dark and dangerous though coz' a brother ('fishbowl' hotel) is just directly opposite the hotel. However, it's a great stay for someone who likes to stay around the Pratunam shopping area.
The hotel, like its price, is not exactly luxurious. The building is old, lift is old, lobby walkway, room is old, etc. well......., get the idea? EVERYTHING is old. The room is old and rather small with mosquitoes (I didn't meet any cockr***** so i guess I'm quite lucky in that sense). But it's 'live-able'. Bathroom is old but rather clean.
The staff is not very friendly and their command of English is minimal. Warning: Do not attempt to talk too much.
The buffet breakfast is quite delicious though! Small variety but delicious AND healthy.
A good hotel if you are not someone who's in Bangkok for shopping and one who's not extremely fussy about the outlook and living condition of the hotel as long as it's clean, well, basically.

Will return again

Convenience location. Room rather small for 3 persons but value for money. Morning breakfast was ok. Easy access for shopping area. Staffs are quite helpful but not all of them. Will return again when visit Bangkok.

Still under my preferred choice

The location of the Bangkok City Inn is convenient and accessible to many shopping areas. It is good that breakfast and dinner is covered under our deluxe package.The aircon is functioning well.
However, there isn't many TV programs to watch and one of the lamp is spoil. The cleanliness of the room is not up to a standard.

Pls have some changes for my next visit!

Actually I'm booking for a triple room but seem that was no such room, just add an extra bed then consider triple room. Then some more the room is very small.
The service also not so good. Early in the morning I went out until 4pm I back to my room they also haven't clean my room.
The air-corn not enough cold & toilet water flush have problem. I think is the time for this hotel to do some servicing and maintenance.
I just agree with the location is near by town.

Very good price for the hotel located in the center

The bangkok city inn hotel is located in the center of Bangkok but the room price is very cheap compared to other hotels around the center. I enjoyed a cheap room price.

Good location with low price

This is my 4th time stay in this hotel, I like the location so much, from the hotel to Chatuchat weekend market only 90 baht by Taxi, and easy to get a bus in front of BIG C (our hotel just next to Big C) to MBK or China Town OR any place. Pratuman and central world will only take 5 min walking distant. If those target for Public transport and shopping I will suggest this hotel for them.

Worst policy! ONLY 2person/room

DISLIKE!! Only 2 person per room! It's hotel policy! Extra person need to pay although no extra bed or breakfast!! :( Need to argue with staff. Threaten to call police n chase you out that night!

Will reconsider it for next Bangkok Trip

Just few minutes walk to Chitlom BTS, Central World,Big C and Erawan Shine.One stop to Siam Square.30 minutes to airport, if there have no traffic jam. Good in location.
Room is valuable for money, staff is nice. It is an ideal hotel for you, if you like to shopping in Bangkok.

Should have provided proper shampoo for convenience though not important. Similarly, there was nothing I like at the breakfast buffet though not important again.
Anyway, we are very pleased with the service & accommodation etc. Good job n cheers.... !!!

Staff can't handle phone messages

I really like this hotel with one caveat. Friends tried to leave messages 5 times (they speak both Thai and English) and only got 1 message through to me (and that was not very well recorded either.) The other times they hung up on them, for no apparent reason. So if you need to receive messages when you are out of the hotel, this may not be the hotel for you.
