“Bangkok City Inn is located VERY near to Central World and is about 5 mins walk from Big C and 10 mins walk from Pratunam market. Very convenient as the hotel is in a very central location. Way out from the hotel to the main road is a LITTLE dark and dangerous though coz' a brother ('fishbowl' hotel) is just directly opposite the hotel. However, it's a great stay for someone who likes to stay around the Pratunam shopping area.
The hotel, like its price, is not exactly luxurious. The building is old, lift is old, lobby walkway, room is old, etc. well......., get the idea? EVERYTHING is old. The room is old and rather small with mosquitoes (I didn't meet any cockr***** so i guess I'm quite lucky in that sense). But it's 'live-able'. Bathroom is old but rather clean.
The staff is not very friendly and their command of English is minimal. Warning: Do not attempt to talk too much.
The buffet breakfast is quite delicious though! Small variety but delicious AND healthy.
A good hotel if you are not someone who's in Bangkok for shopping and one who's not extremely fussy about the outlook and living condition of the hotel as long as it's clean, well, basically.
