Has everything, great location for IT/DVD shopping

by DanTheMan from Melbourne, Australia, 5 Sep 05

Everything about Centre point Petchburi really was perfect for me. I wanted somewhere clean and comfortable to stay for a short shopping trip in bangkok. The hotel really is just across the road from 'Pantip Plaza' - the most amazing place for anything to do with computers, software, cameras, DVDs. etc.

The hotel itself was really perfect in every way. Extremely friendly staff, large clean room (studio) with Internet access for laptops, large tv, dvd/cd player, air-con, etc, etc. breakfast was delicious. what else can I say? A perfect experience for me.

Superb Place. Must go!!!

by Ankur Anand from Singapore, 28 Nov 05

I have stayed at various hotels including 5* hotels but this place was one
of the best. It provides complimentary internet access from the room (don't forgot to carry your laptops).

The rooms are spotless, bathrooms very clean. The studio apt with kitchen was quite cosy. It has almost everything. Don't forgot to visit the Gym, Swimming pool and the Jacuzzi. It's complimentary as well.

Really spacious room ... the free Internet connection was great and the beds in a double room are queen size. Room quality is comparable to five stars hotel.. Friendly staff and security guards.

Preferred Choice

by Anonymous User from Southern California, 31 May 06

We arrived at the hotel at night it was a bit hard for the taxi driver to find. The name of the hotel is called Centre Point Q House, but when we were looking for Centre Point Petchburi. The name Petchburi does not appear anywhere. It's just a little confusing. You also don't see the hotel entrance. All you see is the guard shaft and the hotel sign. Something to watch out for if you're arriving at night.

The hotel is conveniently located where all the shopping is. It's bit of a walk to the skytrain, but not bad at all. If you like foot massages there are 2 shops right next to the hotel. I've been to both Lavendar, which is across the street from the hotel, and there another one right next to the hotel, but I don't know the name of that one. The Lavendar place was much better. I had a room with a kitchen which was great for chilling my fruits and bottle water. Breakfast was delicious, a lot of variety. I also booked a tour through the hotel. The tour was awesome.

Excellent value for money

by Sally Flintoff from Perth, Australia, 8 Oct 05

Great hotel, huge rooms - we booked a twin and got 2 Queen beds and still plenty of room leftover. Location right next door to Pratunam market and very convenient. Only drawback is that it is not near to a BTS or Subway station, but tuk-tuks or taxis are very cheap and can walk to Siam Square in about 15 - 20 minutes anyway, so no big deal.

Breakfast was good - not a huge selection by some standards, but plenty for us - cereals, croissants, toast, fresh fruit, juices, eggs and bacon.

Only complaint was the pillows which were enormously thick (and I like a thick pillow) and quite uncomfortable - we asked for thinner ones but did not get them.

Would definitely stay here again. Excellent value for money.

AtSiam.com booking service was also excellent.

I will be back soon.

by LiZ-Zee from Singapore, 5 Jul 06

Stayed from 16 to 20 June 2006 in a Studio with Kitchen. A room worth my money spend. There ain't many selection of TV channels. Clean and bright and windy as I was located on the 16th floor.

A more or less 10 minutes walk to the Ratchathewi BtS station. Diagonally (a stone throw away) to Pantip Plaza or well known as IT Mall. A&W, KFC and food court also in the building. 5 minutes walk along side from IT Mall is the Platinum Fashion Mall.

Around the hotel with a walking distance and along its main road is the Pratunam market where vendors starts selling their stuffs from morning till 8 to 9pm everyday.

Opposite the Pratunam market is the Pratunam Centre. Never believe what you see in the map for their distance. Always venture it as it may be near than what is printed on the map.

Advice for those first timer to Bangkok...try their Tuk Tuk. Get drivers who willing to bring you to your destination and no where else. As some of the drivers will always try their best to sell other destinations around the city to you. Going to MBK is advisable by BTS or Tuk Tuk.

Try avoid taking the taxi during peak hours as destination from MBK to the hotel and vice versa is considerably near and it will be a waste of time and money to spend if you are caught in the jam. Nearby the hotel there is a Swensen, 7 eleven and Burger King.

Lastly if you intend to have a late check out, have it secured fast so that you wont be left wandering around with luggage before your flight.

Excellent

by Uwe Schuetz from Germany, Witten, 1 Aug 06

For the last 6 times we were regular recurrent guests in the Centrepoint Phetchaburi., so it is and will be still our favourite in BKK. About a 15 - 20 min walk to the next BTS station (Ratchathewi).

Bad elevator

by TADAYUKI OGAKI, 4 Sep 06

Although used several times until now, in connection with elevator construction, it was very inconvenient this time. Although the elevator reached especially at the time of the rush hours at the time of breakfast, there were several things which cannot be ridden in the capacity exaggerated state.
