Excellent location, a pleasure to stay

by peter shearer from Winchester, UK, 5 Aug 06

Highly recommended. Good breakfast and rooms, reasonable gym facilities and sauna. The elevator can be frustratingly slow and the pool is too small for serious swimming. Friendly, helpful service. Good selection of TV channels.

As of July 06 there is waste ground on the Petchburi Rd side of the hotel and its likely to become a building site. Good sound-proofing in the rooms however.

Marginally overpriced for Thailand but all hotels in Bangkok appear to be going this way. Excellent location and a definite first choice for a return visit.

Cool 2nd Time Try

by Jennifer Tan from Singapore, 5 Jul 06

This is my 2nd time staying there!!! Bringing a friend with me and when she step into the room, she just say WOW, it look so clean and big!! and most importantly, we arrive at midnight and the reception there is very helpful!!

Breakfast there really improve a lot and also the room service!! Its good and I would really recommend anyone to stay there!! There is room service every morning!! I stay there for four days. The counter staff is great and helpful, always helping us. And you can even borrow DVD from them to watch. Coffee and tea is always ready there for anyone to drink at the reception section!!! which is good!! The view of our room is great as we are on the 20th Floor!! Cool!! Security is good also!!

The only thing is not so good is the elevator/lifts, it kinda small and too much people using it, we had to wait for quite awhile.

But overall the stay in there is Great!! Will be going back there soon!!

Centrepoint Petchburi is still the best.

by Simon Lin from Singapore / Malaysia, 23 Aug 06

I have stayed in Centrepoint Petchburi for the 2nd time. Overall I'm satisfied by the room cleanliness, location and the hotel service and staff courtesy. This is definitely a choice for anyone who wants a 4 star stay.

Many reasons for my preference in Centrepoint Petchburi's Studio room (without kitchen), as it comes with microwave oven, 2 door fridge, electrical cooking appliances, Sony-DVD Hi-Fi, Flat-screen TV, cosy sofa, laptop-size locker. The room is cosy with parquet floor, a nice hotel class bed, and clean bathroom. Overall experience is excellent and I'm sure, first time will give good rating.

Except for a small water leakage from the air-con duct in the room, anyway, the maintenance took care of it.

The location is good, for the fact, it's centrally located, you wouldn't need a tuk tuk or taxi to go to Isetan, Big C, or Erawan. Just walk across the road and it will take 15 mins of slow pace walk to reach the shopping centres.

The only small problem is all taxi drivers will not know the location and to make matters worst, if you give them a map, they will be very undecided. Just tell them u wanna go to a hotel, just opposite of Pantip Plaza. Yes, the hotel is just opposite, accessible from a road called Soi 15, between Burger King and Swensen. Otherwise u will face difficulty for the taxi driver to locate the hotel.

One more thing, I took a cab from Airport to the Hotel and the cabby told me it will cost 300B. I agreed. On my return to the airport from the hotel, I took a cab and run by the meter and it cost only 140B. Here's my tip "Always follow meter and take the Highway to/from Airport".

I have been to Bangkok many times and if you need tips how to hang around, eat and shop, write to me at simonking@budweiser.com

The only part that sadden me is the increased in room rate compared to last year. It was SGD$50++ in 2005, now it cost SGD$70++. Was a bit disappointed. Next visit will try other hotels if the cost escalates.

Last compliment is for AtSiam.com, it is the best web-service for hotel booking so far. Very professionally designed with good web features such as tracking and alert, to keep you informed of your booking status, e-vouchers, history of booking. Well done.

Look no further for other hotel, dun waste time, try Centrepoint Petchburi. Great hotel. Use AtSiam.com with confidence.

Reasonable price, reasonable quality

by Freda from Singapore, 21 Aug 06

Waiting for the lift was long as one of the lift breakdown. However, we are delighted to find that the rooms are huge and spacious. It is very clean and i think its good for the price that we paid. The location was near to the wholesale shopping. Recommended for the price.

Poor lift service

by Mdm Low from Malaysia, 1 Sep 06

Good location; very near to Pratunam market. Rooms were clean, nice and big. However, the lift service was a major problem. Only 1 working lift to service 30 floors! And very slow too. And when we were there the swimming pool was under renovation until end Sept 06; which was an upset for our kids.

Feedback

by Jessica Heng from Singapore, 21 Aug 06

Booking is easy and response is fast and good with AtSiam.

The service apartment is great. Service staff are friendly and smile. Always ready to serve, free DVD if you are bored. Room is well kept and very livable. Kitchen staff at breakfast place are friendly, even though during breakfast, some guests can be pretty rude to them.

During breakfast, when guests house is full, kitchen may consider to on the light and prepare the indoor meeting room for guests to use for breakfast (opposite lift) as there are not enough seats.

There are nice seating area outside the lobby, but too many mosquitoes. This should be improved.

Overall, we will come back again. In fact we stayed for second time already.

Renovation ongoing

by Simon from Singapore, 5 Sep 06

Overall the stay was good, Location is not too bad as we took a taxi through the stay. I think it is under renovation, our corridor was like under ronvation with old carpet and the lift was under renovation too. We had our pipe in the toilet burst during the last 2nd day. But they got it fixed when we return to the hotel room. Breakfast was ok, But swimming pool was under renovation too!! perhaps if you go in a few months time it would be great

We enjoyed every minute in Bkk!!

by SS Low from M'sia, 5 Sep 06

The room was really big and comfortable. However, like the rest who complained about the lift service, we were quite surprised & disappointed to find that one of the lifts was under maintenance still (seemed forever!).

Location was great as we could walk everywhere from the hotel. Platinum Mall is about 5 mins walk, the newly renovated Central (World Trade) is 10 mins away & Siam Square/MBK is about 20 mins away.

We'd definitely come back to stay at Centre point. And let's hope the hotel would do something about the lifts fast!!

Good value for money despite location; will return

by Anthony Bird from Stevenage, 17 Nov 06

Liked the studio room layout. Pool smallish compared to Sukhumvit and Silom Centerpoint branches but OK for sun bathing and a quick dip.

Buffet breakfast good with reasonible options.

Not worried by deposit on room, it is an apartment block not an hotel!

Only downside was the slightly out of th way location but its only 10 minutes walk to nearest BTS and to Central World.

As always with an apartment you get a much bigger/better equipped accommodation than at an hotel for the same price but you don't get the same level of support (tour desk, bars, shops) as you would in a hotel.

Overall is OK

by LIM LAY CHANG from SINGAPORE, 18 Dec 06

For the American breakfast buffet, I was approached by your staff that my child need to pay because her height is over 110cm. As was told by the receptionist during check in, child is free. Staff should be well trained and knowledgeable before approaching customer.
