Will stay there again on next visit .

by Gentry, 27 Feb 06

One of the best hotels I've stayed in . Had food supermarket and fast food restaurants on bottom floor. 2 blocks to river. Centrally located. Large, spacious rooms. Took long time for water to get hot in bath and shower was only negative.

Renovation needed

by KK from HK, 22 Mar 06

Very good location(next to pier and BTS station). However, room is too old (furnishers looks like been there for ages). Staff was not helpful. Hope they could do renovation soon (during our stay, there are some rooms under renovation, but only renovated the floor, not furnishers)

Luxury digs at bargain basement prices

by Kitty from Expat - Qatar, 1 Apr 06

I challenge anyone to find a better deal anywhere in the world! (OK, maybe this is hyperbole!) I knew nothing about Centrepoint and stayed there during a conference - while many colleagues paid $250 a night for the ShangriLa, we paid around $80, and in contrast to the Shangrila, there was always room to sit down for breakfast and the pool and health club were always empty. When I asked for an iron and board, on my way up to the room, housekeeping beat me there!!! The rooms are huge, clean, washer/dryer, great views. Next time in Bangkok, I'm there!

Great place in a great location

by Anne from Florida, 4 Jul 06

We had four people in a two bedroom suite, and we loved the beautiful spacious rooms. The living area between the two bedrooms was large, attractive, and very comfortable. Some coffee/tea in the kitchen either complimentary or available for purchase would have been nice.

We were a little disappointed that the design of the hotel didn't take full advantage of the magnificent view of the city and river.

The location next to the river was perfect. We were only a couple of minutes from a boat dock, and a short boat ride from many excellent restaurants and tourist attractions.

The staff was excellent. They were consistently attentive and helpful. They went out of their way to help us deal with our car rental agency, and wrote out instructions for our driver in Thai. Breakfast was excellent. However, we only had one other meal in the restaurant and it was only so-so.

Our only real complaint: that damn little ridge across the bathroom doors. Two of us left with sore toes, one blue and possibly broken! However, if we are in Bangkok again, we will definitely stay at the Centre Point Silom--and next time we will wear the little slippers provided rather than running around barefoot!

Convenient!!!

by yoko. from Tokyo, 17 Jul 06

It's connected with a local department store, we enjoyed shopping, massage, snacks from there. Thai people love baby, when we stay in massage room, hair salon, they held our baby happily!

Breakfast has some Thai style light meal, soy milk, rice porridge, fresh fruits & juice, bread etc. everyday. Very convenient and comfortable.

Our second time staying there.

by Robert Hartz from San Francisco, CA, 9 Aug 06

There is a department store off the lobby, with a supermarket downstairs. You are shouting distance to the three famous hotels in Bangkok; The Shangri La, Oriental and The Peninsula. You can't beat the location.

We have already gone back!!

by christina Kaniklidou Arkatites from Cyprus, 14 Aug 06

Excellent location (next to BTS and Central pier). Huge Rooms and very clean. Good variety for breakfast. Eager to help at front desk (with excersions, taxis, happenings etc") Very good service. Our flight was after midnight, and though we have checked out we were able to have a shower.

You get what you pay for

by AFSHIN HAKIMIAN from NEW YORK, NY USA, 18 Sep 06

Good specious rooms, very close to sky train, but very stingy when it comes to amneties. This was the only place I have ever stayed that charged me for extra towels, also the shower had to run for a full five minutes before there was any hot water. Will try center oint sala dang next time. I hear it is much better than this one.

Chawp and Mai Chawp

by Dale from Toronto, Canada, 16 Oct 06

Very spacious one bedroom apartment with a balcony over looking the river. Walking distance to BTS and express boat. Helpful staff. A gym.

OK breakfast. No slippers. No bathrobe. Water leaking from shower to bathroom floor. But the biggest problem is the nearby religious establishment broadcasting prayers before dawn.

A well-located and little known Gem!

by Anonymous from California, USA, 3 Nov 06

A view of the river from the "Riverview" Apartment consisted mostly of unsightly rooftops blocking the view of the river. The advertising picture of the building is deceiving since it doesn't show all the crowded mess surrounding the building. Except for that, the apartment was large, furnished well, and very comfortable. The bathroom was very roomy, had a separate shower, and plenty of countertop room for toiletries. The closet and storage space was better than I've seen anywhere. The washer/dryer in the fully furnished kitchen was a welcome plus. The restaurant provided a simple, but palatable breakfast buffet; However dinner finds the restaurant deservedly empty.

The staff was extremely polite and very helpful, even with provision of electrical transformers that allowed use of my 110 V computer and appliances. The free Internet connection capability was a welcome feature, but extremely slow.

Cab drivers, as well as the Airport bus cannot find the little street this building fronts on. They must be told to go to a specific Robinsons dept store, through which you may enter the building. The location of the building is very near a Skytrain station as well as a Boat Pier, and gives the place a couple of extra plusses. The Robinson's Dept Store food market beneath the apartments was very convenient.

I would certainly stay here again.
