Our favourite in Bankgok!

by Marja Nelemans from netherlands, 24 Jul 05

We stayed overall ten nights in this hotel in the three bedroom apt. All personnel was very helpful and friendly, apartment was really fantastic, enjoyed the facilities and the hotel tuk tuk to Sukhumvit is very convenient. Perfect for families.

Excellent

by Graham Musgrove from Hoddesdon, England, 22 Oct 05

Absolutely superb. Only very slight downside is location, being quite a long way from main road but on the plus side hotel runs a regular tuk tuk service.
You couldn't ask for a more relaxing place to stay.

Best in Bangkok.

by Ron Wood from Liverpool, England, 15 May 06

I stayed in this hotel for ten months and holiday there ever since. This is the best hotel in Bangkok, convenient for everything around the Sukhumvit area, the sky train and underground are well within walking distance but it you are less energetic the Tuk-Tuk takes you to the top of Soi ten and onto Sukhumvit. Bus Stop, Cabbages and Condoms and Jools bar are worth a visit but to get the real feel on Bangkok, eat on the streets or at the local eateries.

Comfortable without all of that extra price

by Anonymous User from Southern California, 31 May 06

They still are in the process of renovation but I had a newly renovated room and it was quite comfortable. Good view, nice staff and a great deal. It was like a 5 star room at 4 star prices.

Relax enjoy

by Andrew Clancy from UK, 11 Sep 06

Fantastic stay, a lot of Japanese business people stay here and the Japanese have a high standard, so that speaks volumes in its self. Excellent for families who don't want the hassle the tourist hotel scene. One of the best stays I have ever had.

Quality at reasonable price.

by David Anthony Taylor from West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, 9 Mar 08

The room was superb, food good, nice size pool, complimentary Tuk tuk to the main road was useful. Very convenient for the skytrain and getting around Bangkok.
Would certainly stay here again.

Excellent service

by Choi Wai Chun Lamda from Hong Kong, 5 May 08

I didn't expect to have so excellent service, I really will stay next time. No far away, tuk-tuk driver is very friendly and helpful. The cooking facilities are good and we cooked the dinner by ourselves.

Almost Perfect

by Mark Lawson from Yorkshire, England, 19 Feb 06

Ideally located on Sukhumvit Road, within walking distance of the main action but tucked away from the heavy traffic.

Facilities are first class - staff are very helpful, respectful and can't do enough for you with the exception of the reception staff who seem to think that it's beneath them to be friendly and courteous. I complained about the main culprit (male, very effeminate) on a previous visit and as a result he now conveniently forgets all my requests such as ordering taxis, porters etc.

We treated it as a bit of a joke in the end as to get angry is to lose face in the Thai's eyes. Still everything else was perfect so would definitely go back.

Centre Point - A great place to stay!

by Jaff L from London, UK, 16 Oct 06

As a frequent traveller to Bangkok, and having stayed at many different hotels within the capital, I decided to try a serviced apartment rather than a hotel - and I'm glad I did!

First impressions are so important. As I entered the lobby, I was greeted with a smile by the staff at reception. Check- in took no longer than a couple of minutes & my bags were whisked to my room.

The room itself, I booked a 1 bedroom deluxe, was huge with a good sized living room with satelite tv, cd player, dvd & video. There was a seperate study with LAN access, writing desk & sofa bed, that could be enclosed to create a second bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped with microwave, fridge, washing machine & enough crockery, cutlery & glasses to hold a party!

The apartment also had two bathrooms and a master bedroom. But one of the best things about the room was the balcony & and amazing views of the Queen Sirikit Centre, the lake & the BKK skyline - great for enjoying a cool drink & watching the sunsets!

The staff were fantastic, from the cleaning crew to the doormen - nothing was ever too much trouble. The free tuk tuk service to Sukhumvit Rd was also very handy & I never waited longer than a couple of minutes.

Breakfast was also included and was adequate with western, Thai & Japanese choices and was available till 11am for late risers. I ordered room service a few times & the food was always tasty & delivered within a matter of minutes.

There were however, some negative aspects:

The room was a little dated but I understand they are currently re-furbishing. In fact, I was rudely awoken at 9am on some mornings by loud drilling while this work was in progress.

The air conditioning was ancient. It made such a racket, even when on low setting that some nights I decided simply to sleep with it off.

The bed was small. I am over 6 feet tall and my feet hung off the end of the bed!

However, all in all, I really enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate in booking again! Well done Centre Point for a comfortable stay & if they can iron out the difficulties listed above, then I would have no reason to ever stay anywhere else!
