Will return again

by Leow Family from Singapore, 8 Oct 08

We had booked 3 rooms to stay in early Sep 2008. The staffs had been very friendly and helpful. On the last day, we had a late flight and they help us keep the luggage FOC till 5pm even after we check out. The rooms is another + point, they have a queen size bed with a single bed, it is that big and the bathroom have a separate tub and shower. It is just too cozy that we do not want to move out of the hotels to shop around under the hot weather.

Good hotel for not so much money !!

by Cori from Germany, 30 Sep 08

It was a very nice stay at Ramada D´MA Bangkok. It was near the shopping area. We stayed there with 2 little children (2 and 4 years old). The staff was very friendly and the room was big enough for us. We had 1 big bed and 1 small bed in our room. in the bathroom was 1 bathtub and 1 separate shower. This was very good, because the children could taken a bath and we could shower in the same time. A very good hotel for not so much money.

Phantom of the opera tune for 24 hrs

by kk, 15 Sep 08

I had stay for 3 nights in mid Sept. The hotel is an old, busy business type hotel surrounded by old city slum neighborhood. They had been repeatedly playing the same song for 24 hours which I found unbearable. Overall, it was uninspiring decor with uncaring staffs plus horible tune tattooing into your brain. I would not go back.

by CHEN WAN LIM from SELANGOR, Malaysia, 16 Jul 08

I think something wrong to the light management system in the room. I have problem with the lights. Its turn on and off automatically and we can't even sleep better during the 1st day.

Don't mind going back there again

by KEL from Singapore, 18 Apr 08

Just returned from Bangkok a couple of days ago and stayed at Pavillion D'Ma Hotel.

It was good but not impeccable. The service staff could use more customer service training although they were not rude. They were just expressionless mostly and are rather slow.

Maybe because we went there during their Songkran festival and they probably thought that they should be enjoying themselves rather than work.

Their breakfast was good. I went there with my family and the restaurant was not crowded so it was pretty enjoyable.

Although the location of the hotel was not near any major shopping centres or historical site(s), it is not inconvenient. It is within walking distance to the famous 4-Faced Brahma at the Grand Erawan Hyatt, near Pratunum Square and MBK etc.

You can always get a taxi at the side of the hotel of flag it down, ask them to go by the meter and you can get to any destination at less than SGD$6. Do take note, never take the taxi that is next to a booth or when the taxi driver approaches you saying he will bring you here and there.

Btw, ask for a taxi-card at the reception if you are taking a taxi as most taxi drivers do not seem to know when we tell them D'Ma hotel or you can just tell them Pavillion.

What I like is that I get to mingle with the locals as the hotel is surrounded by shop houses etc. So if you walk out you can easily eat local food that is delicious and cheap.

There is a 7-11 nearby in case you want a supper but did not think you are up to its local food.

One grouse I have is that, they are rather slow in replenishing (of all things) the toilet paper. They did replenish the drinking water though, they did a good job of tidying up the room. I always came back to a well-made room.

I will definitely go back there again.

Digressing from Pavillion D'Ma. My cousin stayed at the Bangkok Palace which is next to D'Ma. Bangkok Palace despite its name has an old and musky smell when we entered. The room does not look as comfortable as Pavillion D'Ma.

The staff at reception should go for courses

by Usha Devi from Singapore, 28 Oct 06

The rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable and clean. Toilet is very nice also. Breakfast was good.

The staff at the reception counter should go for training. They are not too friendly. A lady (unfortunately I did not get her name) was not fit to be at the reception counter. She does not know how to smile and has attitude problem. The best part was when we made booking in Singapore a month back for late checking in and out, we were locked out of our room after 12, when we returned from shopping. When we checked with this lady at the reception, she said look at the sign, checking out is at 12p.m. We had to beg her to let us in until 3.30 and she asked us to pay 1,000 Baht in order to get access to our room. The feeling was miserable. I will definitely not go back to this hotel.

Sure, I'd do it again.

by Suzanne M from Columbia, MD, 30 Jan 06

We were on the 24th floor, which was nice, because we got a view, but disappointingly, there were many mosquitoes in our room, and in our friend's room, next door, he wound up with a cockroach on his leg when he woke up in bed.

The staff was very good, and quite helpful. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, but the bathroom was very nice, with a nice shower (although it leaked so much on either side of the door that it made huge puddles on the floor. For us, the buffet was just OK since we're vegan, but I imagine that if we weren't, It would've been outstanding since the selection was huge, and you could have breakfast on the lower level or on the 8th floor outside where the pool was (although the selection was poor on the 8th floor).

The pool was gorgeous, as well as the cabana, and the bartender there was awesome. They had a decent gym by the pool as well, and a sauna. It wasn't in the best part of town, but that's not such a big deal. All in all, for the money ($54/night), it's a steal.

Poor customer services

by Veneeta from Hong Kong, 13 Jan 06

This is one hotel where I will never return to. When me and my friends got to the hotel to check in, the reception was not able to find all the bookings. They only had confirmation for one room and not for two rooms. However we booked our rooms with AtSiam website and had the hotel vouchers where it clearly stated confirmed 2 rooms with double bed. When we approached the guy at the reception about it, he started shouting and was very rude. Me and my friends were shocked at the attitude and customer services received by this person. Finally we were attended by another person, who was friendly and helpful and managed to find our bookings. We did make a complaint about the attitude and unprofessional treatment we received to the General Manager of the hotel.

When we got to the room, it was great. it was spacious and tastefully done. The pool area and breakfast are a miss. The location of the hotel was inconvenient.

The only good thing about this hotel was the room. this is one hotel I will not recommend to any of my friends. The hotel must train there staff to be professional and friendly. I work as a customer services myself, so I know how important is it to have good attitude towards your customers.

nice Hotel - very good service

by Ulrich MANNS from Bonn, Germany, 14 Nov 05

Only one problem, but I made it: I ordered "a room on a high floor" and want have a nice view over Bangkok. I got a high floor, but I had a bad view to the next tower. The tower was standing 10 meters in front of my room. I don't spoke with the reception.

Next time I will order "a room on a high floor, with a nice view over Bangkok". ;-))

The service, the room and the breakfast are only the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
