A satisfied customer

by Anonymous user from USA, 21 May 05

I love this hotel and it is where I stay when I go to Thailand for work. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and clean. Nice restaurant too.

AtSiam is also a very good service for booking hotels in Thailand. I can also depend on AtSiam to make all my arrangements. I have been very pleased with your service and this hotel.

Good service

by Anonymous user, 15 Aug 05

AtSiam is an excellent on-line booking service. I have used the service several times and always get a competitive price and prompt replies. Never a problem. I will use your service again.

I have stayed at the Karmanee Palace hotel and find it comfortable, convenient, and a good value. Helpful staff.

Thailand is awesome

by averagejoe55 from ohio, 5 Jul 07

The hotel was as mentioned above very "ok" but a good value and close to the market but not much else. We will be staying there again, value only. The travel agent on staff were very helpful and trustworthy. Everything they promised was delivered and as they said it would be.

Looks better on the web than in the flesh

by dan jones from brighton england, 7 Mar 07

This hotel looks much better on the web than in the flesh. Tired and dated with no internet no roof rester aunt any more and the superior room is just bigger than the standard.

Staff are unhelpful and miserable if you arent in a suit and tie they think you don't have money!!

On plus side its not bad location rooms are big and its clean and tidy but you could do so much better for the money. I am sure it it was nice once but get the paint brushes out!

Nice hotel in need of better maintenance

by Frederick Flintstone from London, 28 Sep 07

Hotel is in a pretty good location, but the overall picture is that the hotel can be improved in a varied number of ways especially in the redecoration of many of their rooms.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Just those essential details like room lighting and health and safety failings let it down.

Not bad

by Anonymous User from From USA, but live in China, 26 Jan 08

We've stayed in this hotel several times with our family (we get a discount because of connections). Some rooms are nicer (and larger) than others. All the rooms have sliding glass doors that go out to a balcony, but sometimes the door is locked. Some of the rooms have a nice view of the lovely estate with gardens next door. The rooms themselves are fairly large, but the carpet is quite dirty.

Other than that, they are clean. The bathrooms are fine -- bathtub & marble sink. The beds are comfortable and sheets clean. The rooms are reasonably quiet. The pool is on the roof and nice, but the water is a little cold, and there isn't enough seating up there.

There's a nice rooftop bar, but it wasn't staffed in the afternoon. There's a nice restaurant which offers both western and Thai food at reasonable price, and the wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Breakfast is included in the price of the hotel, and is a buffet -- Thai/Chinese in one area (rice porridge, noodles, veggies) and Western (eggs, toast, bacon, sausages) in other. There's plenty of fruit, coffee, tea, and fruit juice. We rather prefer the Asian breakfast. There's a nice little bakery/coffee shop, but it isn't always staffed. Check in and out is a little slow, and sometimes you have to wait a bit for the elevator. The area (Pradipat Road) is off the beaten track for tourists, a bit north of the central shopping area, but close to the palace, zoo, and weekend market. There's plenty of Thai food vendors in the street in front of the hotel (with fabulous barbecue chicken) and little restaurants at reasonable prices. We recommend the Muslim/Indian food restaurant nearby -- across the street. You can walk down Pradipat to the end of the street (about 2 or 3 kilometers) and there's a Big C with a Pizza Company and other restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops. It's quite close to the weekend market -- you can walk there if you're ambitious, or a quick taxi ride.

Value for the price

by HKOYAJI from Hong Kong, 11 Nov 07

Location is good for go to downtown Bangkok (ie Silom 9 by bus or taxi). The room is wide, not bad for this budget. Breakfast is average, but water of swimming pool is dirty.

Very average

by John Godley from UK, 20 May 06

The hotel is OK. The rooms are very large, and this means that the air-conditioning struggles. Decor has seen better days and while not dirty, is certainly a little grubby.

The bathroom is nice and large, and contains a clean bath tub.

The hotel clerk, upon checking in, tried to add an extra 100 baht to the bill for 'maid cleaning fee'. This was dropped when I argued. I would not trust the staff after that.

It is a good 15 minutes walk to Saphun Khuai BTS station.

There is little to see or do nearby, and not many restaurants. A 7/11 is directly across the road.

Would I return? No. I'd hope there are better hotels for the money. As a stopover between flights it was fine.

This hotel could use a refreshment

by REMMERY N. from Belgium, 21 Apr 06

The hotel is old and not kept up to date like the furniture and wallpaper or painting. The swimming pool was good but no or only a few broken old chairs around the pool and no service. The breakfast was OK.

So as conclusion this hotel can use a restoration.
