Riverside Location at these prices?...'nuff said!

by Roy & Chaluai from England, 3 Jul 05

Staff polite and friendly. Room very clean but ready for refurbishment. River views made up for that. Hotel a little out of the way for tourist attractions but the (free) hotel ferryboat will take you to the nearest Sky Train station.

We usually stay in the Sukhumvit area, at about half the price of the Menam, but fancied a change.
Glad we did - we will stay there again.

We can't wait to go back

by sautou carine from shanghai china, 23 Aug 05

Good hotel with swimming pool. The room are really comfortable and the hotel are very clean. There is also a good breakfast with Thai-French and American Specialty. It's possible to see the Klong with a departure on the hotel.

Good value for Riverside hotel

by Anonymous User from British Columbia, Canada, 9 Dec 05

The Menam offers a place to 'escape' the noise of Bangkok, while remaining close to Bangkok transportation. It's only 0.5 km to the klong express boats, which makes it perfect for tourists wanting to look at the usual tourist sights like the royal palace (you hop on and off the boats - no traffic jams). it's also only a km or so to the skytrain station (catch a cab - it's only about a dollar CDN) - which is also convenient. The rooms? slightly musty but clean. Very good value for a Riverside hotel (if you book online and get the deals).

Old looking

by sabrina dantan from france and ireland, 3 Jan 06

Good location, away from the noise. Only the pool, bar and restaurants have been redecorated recently. Corridors have stained carpets and smell bad.

Rooms are Ok, bathrooms look 20 years old. Restaurants are quite expensive for Thailand but the buffet one offers a good selection for about 20 euro. I wouldn't go back to this place, I preferred the Novotel in Siam square

Our home away from home in Bangkok

by Linda from Almere, The Netherlands, 25 May 07

We stayed in Menam Riverside Hotel for the third time. It's a nice hotel for your stay in Bangkok. The service is ok, the breakfast is great and the views over the Chao Praya are beautiful especially when you have the luck to see a sunset.

The hotel is being updated last year. With a nice pool to go for a swim after your hot day in Bangkok this hotel is great. Just view steps away on the left hand side is a nice little Chinese restaurant. Before we left to the airport we had dinner and it was great. Simple restaurant but very nice people, we had lots of fun.

Menam Riverside again if I go to Bangkok for a visit

by Rose Lina Salehud Din from Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia, 20 Sep 07

The room is a little small and the shower floor - the water did not drain as fast as it is suppose to be, but it was our fault, we didn't let the hotel people know about it. Overall I am happy with Menam and the friendly people working there - always smiling and greeting people nicely. If possible, breakfast cereals should have more varieties and more fruits - well I am a Muslim, so I can't eat like the others - depending on cereals and fruits. I don't know about the others, but if I am ever in Thailand again, I will not hesitate to choose Menam for another stay - I do like the location and atmosphere.

We are going back!

by K HARRIS from LONDON, 3 Oct 07

Very impressed breakfast couldn't be better plenty of choice, ideal situation, with their own river ferry. Central for everything but not in the direct "hub" of the city. If you visit do try the all inclusive restaurant, and sit by the river beautiful.
