Not really impressed
by Anonymous from London, 4 Nov 06
This is my 3rd hotel in Bangkok.
It is nearly 2am and I am sitting in one of the chairs because I cannot sleep. Why? itching like mad, and cold. I don't know if it is the laundry powder (I hope so) or if it is bugs, but i became extremely itchy when i got into bed (same itch i had in a low budget hotel when I first arrived in Bangkok. But not when I stayed at Q Hotel, Petchburi). I am cold because the room only has air con, no balcony, and windows don't open. I actually like the heat. That's why I am in Thailand, for heavens sake! So, as the room hasn't had direct sunlight, its cold. I'm sitting with a jacket on (thank heavens I had one with me) because if i use the bedsheets i begin to feel like I'm being bitten within a few minutes!
The lobby has been redone and is very nice, but the rooms are stuffy and catastrophic. Haven't tried the pool and gym etc yet.
Hmm ... and I also find it disconcerting that security check bags every time you walk in the door. Guess I should feel safer..?
Talking of bags, when you arrive you leave your bags with the porter and he gives you a ticket. After what seemed like a very long and laborious check-in, I am shown to my room. I ask about my luggage, and I'm informed that the porter will bring it up. 5 minutes+ later I'm still waiting. I get very worried, as I realized I should have grabbed the bag with my laptop, but didn't. I end up calling up reception and its obvious my bags had been forgotten. Around 10 minutes goes by and I start wondering what the heck is going on. Was going to call again when I my phone rings. The porter says the bags are on their way and sorry for delay. I took that he meant that the bags were being brought up at that moment, but took a further 10 minutes. Maybe I expect too much, but I did think that was quite poor service. Esp considering what you pay.
For me, it isn't value for money. only worth it if you intend to do a lot of shopping seeing as it is within the MBK shopping centre and close to the other large malls.
I don't intend to stay here again next time unfortunately.

If you do not mind the money, it is a good hotel, Highly recommended
by Billy from HKSAR, 9 Feb 06
I have stayed for four nights at 28/f when I first day travel in Thailand. A good hotel, location is good, room is good, a good good view of the city at 28/f., Breakfast was good but in a little space at that time, hope that they have improved, girls who like shopping must stay at this hotel as MBK, Siam Square, others big mall are just aside. I and my wife have had enjoyed the first Room service as dinner twice during the 4 days. It was like honeymoon.
but price gone up, we won't go in the future.
But still highly recommended to all of you, try once and you will not forget !!!

by Mrs Eleonore from Den Haag ,The Netherlands, 29 Oct 07
Nice place to be there, because of many possibility for shoppers, MBK is out of the hotel- lobby straight in one minute
entering this centre!!,
Good hotel, special the triple room ( 3 persons) with kitchen very recommended for family with children.
We were here 4 times before, and the next time for sure we will come back again!!
