Uninspiring quality for money

by Michel Parein from Belgium, 1 Oct 08

This uninspiring hotel has got all the features of a decent simple place, but it is not well situated. A long walk until you
reach public transport (BTS or MRT) is not fun in the heat of Bangkok.

One exception: Breakfast; Truly outstanding quality for a breakfast included in the admiringly fairly cheap rates.

Alot of Variables, but I would love to go back and hopefully plan in the near future

by Anonymous User from Canada, 14 Aug 08

Bangkok Smog on the lower level of the city; not good. Higher levels are good. The hotel is ok, when I was there, I noticed the hotel workers seemed to mimic and laugh of customers, who knows maybe they were being difficult, I don't know as I do not speak their language.

My first night after landing was kinda strange as i received very good warnings and tips from my government, the door latch wasn't secured enough to the frame, but after the next day, they secured it properly. I was on a lower level so I got to smell the smog and traffic crap, but higher leveled rooms were good, I was so sensitive to the 4th floor, but it is manageable. The pool and jacuzzi is on the top floor level which is good cause they are in the open area with air with better quality from the lower areas of the city, I don't care much of the pigeons making a home underneath their little rooftop like on their top floor with ceramic pictures underneath full of them. The water inside the pool was fine as it was filtered, but I dare not to make make an accidental swallow as they are pigeons and lizards roaming around.

OVERALL, I would say that this place is in heart of a lot of things such as the night bazaar and close to MBK shopping mall and all other areas of the city, I would recommend it.

For Internet, you have to pay WI-FI or the internet in the lobby area with two computers, it costs about 35 Baht for half an hour which is about $1.00 US. You could get a better price just right outside the hotel, you go to the street and turn left and after you pass the laundry service street there this an internet cafe which cost 30 baht per hour, even a better deal because I was having problems with the internet at the hotel where the internet couldn't even start but I was charged for it.

I am very sensitive to smells and taste that one day I couldn't eat anything because everything I smelled on the Bangkok river smelled like everything I ate and that was on the second day, it kept going, I could never get the smell out of my system, some pizza places and pasta shops were okay. However my sensitivity to Bangkok was something very interesting, I originally planned to stay 28 days, I only made it to 10 days as I was alone in a city of so many million and no one I knew or Know was there for me when and if I ever keeled over, but I made the right decision to go back home.

Even If I left, I would and am making plans to go back to this place, there are so many things I have not done yet there which I wanted to do.

Read my review, remember one thing, I was there alone by myself with no one else, if I could make there that long, you could to.

My first scare was when I couldn't eat properly because of the smell and taste of food, but certain days I could. If I stayed a little longer I could've adjusted. But overall, I was in a different country with one else that could be there for me when I really needed help like keeling over the sidewalk. I am glad I made the right decision to come back.

by H from London UK, 25 Jul 05

Tour operator gave it has a freebie, glad I didn't pay for it. In a dirty run down street with views of local residents unclean rooftops with all thier washing on display. Never again.

it is a fine spot

by Thomas from San Francisco, US, 7 Aug 05

My friend and found the hotel to be clean and personable. Good view of the city. Good location to the park, and not far from the night market. The spa closes too early, however, lots of folks from Singapore and Hong Kong in the hotel when we were there. I would go back.

Rude!

by Stuart from England, 21 Feb 06

I was due to stay at the Pinnacle Lumpinee twice within 10 days. On arriving the first time I found my room to have twin beds even though I had booked and confirmed a double bed for my girlfriend & I. I requested to change rooms and after a little fuss they did so.

I returned to the hotel 5 days later to stay for an addition 3 nights and was greeting with absolute rudeness from the front office supervisor. Again I was given twin beds and she was so rude didn’t want to look at my voucher or listen to reason. Other guests had similar problems and after speaking with the manager was informed that they do not guarantee double beds to any guests, although they’re happy to take your money in advance.

Other problems whilst staying there the first time just magnify their incompetences and I found the whole experience extremely frustrating and disappointing, I would not recommend the hotel to anyone and would advise AtSiam to remove this hotel from its listings.

Electricity problem

by Kim young kyoung from korea, 17 Mar 06

I stayed at the Pinnacle hotel from March 10th to 14th. On the there was no electricity from 10am to 6pm and next day from 10am to 9pm. The hotel staff told me that one of the two elevators would be working. However neither of the elevators was working on Saturday, which meant a long walk up and down the stairs to my room on the 11th floor.

And though I really wanted to stay in my room and relax, how could I when there was no light or air conditioning? I was not offered anything to compensate for this inconvenience. I can understand that this might happens for one day, but for two days it's an unacceptable way of doing business.

Good Trip!

by Anonymous user, 28 Oct 06

The room was just okay, but not that good enough as the name "Deluxe" states. I had requested for a Deluxe single bed but was a given a room with 2 single beds which was quite congested. Shower was not working for sometime.

There are more friendlier Hotels in Bangkok than this one

by Marcel Siepel from Amsterdam, Holland, 14 May 07

We Booked and payed in advance, they asked for a deposit of 1000 bath, we asked for what, for the bar in the room and the desk-manager was not friendly.

We payed under protest. They treated us as possible thief. Without an explanation of the manager but with apology. First time and last time in this hotel.
