A good budget hotel

by Mr.K.K.L from UK-London, 26 Jul 08

I have stayed here a few times within the past couple of years, can't really complain much as you pay for what you get! It is not well known so taxi drivers don't know where it is.

The bedrooms are ok but the bathroom is abit too small, the shower is not hot and not powerful enough and it always seems to overflow. Reception staff are friendly but the maids are even friendlier. Location is not ideal - it will take around 10-15mins walk to the shopping area. O yeah the breakfast is really bad!!

Not so bad. Not so good.

by Ifthicar from Colombo SL., 25 Apr 06

Place is quiet. Taxi drivers not aware of the hotel. However not a new hotel. An old apartment building renovated recently. Not appropriate to use the word deluxe for the room. View from room poor. No gym and pool. Few more bahts can get a better hotel.

All 7 days for breakfast bread butter and jam. We do not eat chicken and pork. No alternatives provided. Restaurant staff not friendly. Request for a late checkout at 4pm, was turned down and only allowed till 2pm. This is after staying for 7 consecutive days.

Oh! I love this hotel

by John Creak from USA, 26 Apr 06

Very good hotel and location. I can walk to pratunam market or BTS very easy. Staff was very nice and helpful.

This hotel is new, so taxi drivers may not necessarily know it. The hotel is also strategically placed for the nearby Pratunam shopping area and Indra Square. Around the hotel, everything was accessible, great choice of places to eat, and it did not seem too overrun with tourists. It was excellent value for downtown Bangkok, I had a lovely air-con room with hot shower, complimentary toiletries, TV, fridge and tea making facilities.

Compare this with the nearby D'ma hotel where I paid more than twice the price for 1 night with no fridge or tea making facility and sourfaced staff. If you don't mind not having a gym or swimming pool, this is an excellent bargain if you are staying in Bangkok.

Been cheated by earlier review reflected !

by CHUA JIN, 28 May 06

Hotel location is certainly not as good as Bangkok City Inn. A very long walking distance to BTS and nearest convenience store. Although Bangkok City Inn is rated as 2 stars but certainly better in environment, cleanliness etc than Pratunam which is rated 3 stars.

Will not consider this hotel next time.

Basic

by Keat Yeoh from United Kingdom, 22 Sep 06

Hard to find but once there OK.

Not convenient for Skytrain or Underground. Convenient for quietness but easily accessible to food in Petchburi Road.

Good location for Pratunam Centre, Platinum Centre, Pantip Plaza & WTC.

Basic but adequate.

Not the next time

by Koh Boon Hua from Singapore, 27 Nov 06

Dislike:
Hotel staff should help customer arrange/book/call for taxi to airport (We were rejected by hotel staff to arrange/call for taxi to airport). We have to walk out to get Taxi. Not a good service.

Early breakfast is ok, but if you are late eat the remainder, no "top-up".

Hotel staff should know Bangkok well or the nearby shopping centre well. Hotel staff don't know the location/time to get there/how much taxi fare we are asking.

Will be back again soon.

by LEE SOO SIONG from Penang.Malaysia, 6 Mar 07

The hotel is well located in the centre of the city with easy access to major place of interest and transits point like MRT and Skytrain. Rooms are clean by great house keeping staff who are honest to the heart ... hotel staff are helpful in providing useful information which make our stay enjoyable. The one and only set back I can think of is the usage of internet ... it is too costly ...however I will come back to stay again if I am in Bangkok and this time I will remember to bring my laptop.

Will be considered in future trips!

by Annonymous User from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 28 May 07

Located in a good neighborhood i.e. convenient store, massage shop, saloon, etc.

Bad point is quite far from BTS Skytrain station. But who cares, if you are traveling in a group, taking a taxi is easy and cheap.

Overall satisfactory experience

by Benjamin Tan Jun YI from SG, Singapore, 6 Jan 08

Likes: Location is very near many shopping malls like Central World, Platinum, MBK. Cheap price and value for money.

Dislikes: Some rooms have bug infestations, toilet doors can't be locked, place looks a little run-down.

Not a bad choice for budget hotel

by yang kailing from Singapore, 18 Jan 08

The suite was comfortable and cosy. Only complain was the toilet, which was pretty small. Breakfast also has no selection at all, should try to improve on serving variety of food rather than the same set everyday. Also, the toaster is too small, feels like breakfast at home instead of a hotel. Otherwise, it is not bad.
