Value For Money
by Anonymous User from Singapore, 21 Jul 06
It is very near the Pratunam shopping areas and a good walking distance away (about 20 minutes)from major shopping centers like MBK and Discovery Center. The Pantip Plaza, fast food restaurants and 7-11 are just down the road too.
The room is quite spacious, although the furniture is a bit run down and sofa looks old, but it's comfortable enough. The bed is pretty comfortable too. The shower tap is not strong enough and from Level 3 onwards, the water is barely lukewarm. It's one thing I think the hotel really needs to improve on.
If you're on a tight budget and yet wants a moderate room in a prime location, this can be what you're looking for.

Reasonable worthwhile option - but expect nothing shiney or new!
by Jono from Sweden/Australia, 1 Dec 06
The breakfast is good quality and the restaurant worth a visit itself I think. I would have stayed longer but for the lack of proper satellite TV. There are other options in the area, so check and compare, as always.

Very budget
by Gillian Saks from Cape Town, South Africa, 20 Mar 07
Pricewise it is VERY cheap and ''you get what you pay for"! ALTHOUGH THE STAFF SPOKE LITTLE ENGLISH THEY WERE ALWAYS HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. Breakfast was sufficient. IT WAS CLEAN People don't know where it is so it can be frustrating with transport. IT IS QUIET SO ONE IS ABLE TO SLEEP WELL.

In need of complete refurbishment
by Keat Yeoh from United Kingdom, 22 Sep 06
Completely let down by the condition of room, furnishing, lift, corridor & general ambience.
I was on the 2nd floor.
Shame because otherwise I would rate it quite highly.

Budget ; OK
by Tham Sai Keun from Selangor, Malaysia, 23 Apr 07
- smack in the middle of the main shopping area, yet not on the main road (so it's hard to find but not much dirt and noise from the busy bustly roads)
- cheap, simple and comfy if you don't expect luxury
- decent breakfast
- very warm staff and though they don't converse in English heavily, they try their best and it really helps
- Spa Buri within the hotel itself, easy quick way to get a massage or two under the same roof
- not one but two 7-ELEVEN's right outside at the main road, along with a Burger Kings and Pizza place opening up to midnight for a late snack
- walking distance to Pantip Plaza, Platinum and Pratunam shopping centres
- the hotel looks small but i think it's cosy and neat
BAD cuz ...
- warm water not sufficient or not warm enough
- air-conditioning may be noisy at night as each unit is adjacent to each other with a good chance that their air-con vent unit is facing ur room window
- only good for a place to bunk and sleep, otherwise TV doesn't have good channels, not much room space, no view at all (all you see if concrete).
- not well known, so some cab drivers may find a hard time locating it, you need to get off the main road on a small lane to reach the hotel
- furniture are pretty old, a little run down but works fine
OVERALL ... if you wanna visit Bangkok on a budget and won't stay in ur room much besides sleeping/napping and the breakfast, this is the place for you.

Don't Mind staying there again for the location
by Jennifer from Malaysia, 13 Apr 08
If you are looking for luxury, then this is not the place for you. But if you know you're going to be out most of the time and just needed a good night rest, then this place is an excellent choice as its very cheap for a two bedroom suite with kitchen and a family hall.
Shopaholics, this is the best location you can find. Within minutes of all the good shopping malls and most importantly, the skytrain. We walked most of the the time to the shopping haunts. Its hard to find at first because the taxi driver didn't know where it is. Just tell the taxi driver to go to First Hotel. Its just opposite the road. There are signage to point to the hotel. Staff is very very helpful.

Not a bad choice finally
by Chiao-Lin, Bernardon from Taipei, Taiwan, 7 Mar 07
We booked the service apartment (2 bedrooms suite). The suite is very big, with kitchen, bathroom, living and dinning rooms. The room is clean (didn't see even an ant) but everything is kind of run down but working. I think a little bit of work of fixation or good maintainers will give a plus to the room. And I think the room really need to have some works done asap.
The little buffet breakfast is nice, just downstairs in a small but cozy restaurant. The reception is helpful and accommodated (we request to have the check-out delay till 2pm because our flight).
We stayed only one night there, for the location, convenience, and the price, it's not a bad choice.
