Tired and Sad

by Lisa from Melbourne, 1 Jul 05

Great location rather old and tired this hotel has certainly seen better days. Give breakfast a miss even if it is included food is dreadful. I didn't have high expectations based on price but upon arriving in Bangkok felt that I could have found better value for money.

Pool area and gym are excellent - staff not overly friendly or particularly rude. Check you bill local calls that don't connect get charged no matter what. Rooms cleaned in a fairly sloppy manner don't know how often linen should get changed in a hotel room every three to two days?? Think the linen was changed weekly - fairly sloppy cleaning of rooms.

Good value/ location

by Barry Tong, 15 Aug 05

A good value hotel in a good location. Room I had on floor 12nd was a bit noisy being at the front of the hotel, but second stay I asked for (and was given) a room nearer the back of the hotel on floor 12A. Bathroom was in better condition in this room also. Great for transport, although watch the taxi drivers out the front. They will try not to use the meter or take you to a gem shop. Just go up the road a bit further and get a taxi. Pool is pretty ordinary but functional.

Will be back again for sure.

by ST Chan from HK, 12 Jan 06

Conveniently located in the downtown and close to the Sky Train. Reception area is small but room is spacious. Very comfortable bed and pillow. The swimming pool at the roof top is good and with beautiful view of Silom area.

Don't miss the pool side bar by evening as they have live band with lively music and vocals. Just 50 metres from the hotel, there is Airport bus stop. Don't have to worry you have lots of luggage to carry.

Tower Inn Hotel

by Peter Francis Longhurst from Cairns Australia., 5 Oct 05

Was unhappy that my bed had sheets used apparently by the previous occupant on the made-up bed. Although crushed and creased they were clean, I was tied and so didn't make a fuss.

The noon checkout, extended to 1pm was useful. Therefore for the price its a good place.

Not my first visit

by Ross from Sydney, 3 Dec 05

Its my 4th or 5th time at Tower, I will always stay here. It is close to BTS sky train, Metro Underground, its on Silom Road which has all the nightlife and it has a rooftop pool that is soon good!

Good value!

by Frank Zomar from Vancouver, Canada, 18 Jan 06

Great central location in Silom area! Room was updated and clean. All of the staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Will definitely stay at the Tower Inn again next visit.

Hotel in renovation

by ROURE from Paris, 21 Mar 06

The hotel is in renovation, (march 2006) and we enjoyed having a new room. Very large and clean room, but bed is a little too hard, and air-con too noisy. Breakfast is very generous, and croissants good "french"quality, not too greasy.

Budget hotel with good value

by kogan reuven from Israel, 6 Nov 06

We (2 adults+1 kid) stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay there.
The rooms are very big in size and include a double bed and a corner sofa and it gave us the feeling that everyone of us got his private corner.

The breakfast buffet have a lot of selection but it stayed the same all the time of our stay but everything was fresh and tasty.

The shower was small but had a strong current of water and it always had a hot water.

Location is very close to sky train and a lot of restaurants and shopping centers.

Unico Grande is Fantastic (not the Tower Inn as shown here)

by Devin Fleming from Miami Beach, Florida USA, 5 Jan 07

Tower Inn and the Unico Grande Silom are NOT the same hotel. The photos are of the Tower Inn which is old, run down and dirty. Unico Grande is absolutely beautiful. The service is fantastic and the staff is very helpful and very nice. My room was so great I didn't want to leave it. The breakfast was pretty good. Not great, but good. Go expecting an Asian style / European style which is fine. To get to Silom road is a bit of a walk through a backstreet and some portions are not lighted, but having been to BKK many times before I wasn't worried. I definitely will return and stay at UNICO GRANDE SILOM - - not Tower Inn.

Still an inn

by Lo Wai King from HK, 6 Mar 07

The hotel is quite old but clean. Room is spacious. Breakfast is good at this price, but bad service. The receptionist only good at tracing customers for vouchers. Waiters need more training in table setting. The location is 10 minutes from Sala Deng and many taxi drivers hesitate to go. Those drivers hanging in front of hotel asked for unreasonable price. The new name not easily recognized by taxi drivers, they know the old name.
