Not the best experience in Bangkok

The staff at the reception desk is not what you expect in Thailand : almost rude and aggressive. Doorman and staff in the dining room very helpful and kind.
Though my 5 nights were prepaid, had to leave a 2000 B. deposit, just in case I'd leave the hotel without paying my soda or my peanuts : for this reason; I decided not to spend a penny in meals, laundry or any other service offered by the Unico.
Room (1908) was vast and clean, but badly needed to be refurnished and equipped with a silent aircon (the aircon is so noisy that I had to switch it off to sleep). View from the 19th floor is spectacular.
Breakfast is good and plenty, though the menu is the same every morning. Swimming pool looks nice, but much smaller than what is shown on the photo and not deep enough to swim.
Location is perfect.
Because of the money deposit and the ugliness of the furniture, I'll probably try some other hotel on my next trip to BKK.

Good value for money

Good location and very large rooms. Was also impressed with the service in the hotel. Very good value for money and I hope to stay there again when next in Bangkok. Also the roof top pool is brilliant.

Management & Staff are working Hard to Update & Improve.

This hotel was formerly the Tower Inn, the staff remembered me & took good care of me again. There have been vast improvements, they are refurbishing the hotel floor by floor, this takes time. I was situated on the 12th floor which is need of updating, never the less, I will always come back to this hotel, I feel at home here, be nice to the staff & you will get double back.

I've stayed here 3 times now

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now as it is good value for money and well located and only a few minutes walk to Chong Nongsi BTS station. My only gripes are that non-smoking rooms should be designated exclusively non-smoking and not just switched round to suit the next occupant. My room, 1407, had an ashtray and matches and had obviously been a smoking room till I arrived. Another grips is the unchanging and rather unimaginative breakfast. Over the last two years it hasn't changed one iota!! Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Good enough location and service to overlook spartan and tired standard rooms

Depending on your luck, you may get assigned an old and tired, but otherwise clean room. Currently, some renovations work is ongoing till end Oct to convert 2 floors around the 10th level into deluxe rooms so it will be noisy in the late mornings to 5PM. Rooms are big but furnishings can be spartan but functional depending on the floors. Room service is fast and food is good though slightly pricey for a 3/3.5 star hotel.

Good value for money

Stayed there many times since several years .Good location, good gym, good pool.
Not a dream but good value for money .
Rooms are quite different in size and equipment ( for same price). I always ask for the bigger ones which have kitchenette and additional space to put your PC.
No problem if not full .

I will stay there again

The hotel is bright and well lit. The staff are dedicated to helping with problems but do not fuss. The rooms are large with comfortable beds, good pillows and excellent facilities.
The hotel is located close to the overhead railway and to a large night market where you can be hassled as much or as little as you chose while you decide to purchase.

Great value

I have stayed here many times now and while its not exactly 5 star, it is in an excellent location and the rooms are huge. After a days shopping, its nice to go back to the Rooftop pool.

Good location

I have stayed twice at this hotel, the first time I got a room on the 9th floor, which had a good view, the second time I was further down the corridor on the 7th floor and that was very bad, as I only had a view of neighborhood walls and roofs. The lobby is renovated, but the rooms have very old furniture and are very uninspiring.

Always again

I have spent many times in the hotel and know some of the staff quite well . Gives me a feeling of being home. So, I guess I will go there again and again and again.
