Decent price for a decent hotel

by W. Chan from NY, United States, 18 Jun 08

I stayed here for 26 nights during the month of June in a superior room. The first room I was given on the 5th floor the toilet in my room had a strong sewer like odor. I requested a room change and was given another room on the 5th floor instantly. My new room had a similar problem but the smell was noticeably less and it comes and goes.

The breakfast is really nothing to applaud about but the food is edible. The location is far off from all the major tourist sites, so if this is the first time you're visiting Bangkok I wouldn't really recommend this hotel.

Overall this hotel is priced accordingly.

Not a boutique hotel as I expected!

by Elisa Peng from Taiwan, 27 Nov 07

This hotel seems a little bit old, not as the pictures showed. I didn't see a fantastic restaurant as pictures during my stays. The room was ok, but crowded with an extra bed and the carpet was dirty. I booked a 3 nights triple room there, but they asked me to move to another twin room without extra bed at the last night due to their renovation. Although I didn't require that extra bed indeed, but they should at least ask me if I want it or not. And since they have revnovation at that floor, they should arrange me to another floor in advance, but not asked me to move all my stuffs by myself the night before I checked out. This made me quite uncomfortable!

My home away from home

by CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON from WA, United States, 2 Nov 07

I have stayed at Veronica Residence many times and it has become my home away from home. In fact, many of the staff know me by name and it's nice to get a person greeting upon entering the hotel.

The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. It is located conveniently near the Sutthisan MRT station. The free breakfast is very nice with a lot of choices.

I recommend this hotel for those in need of a basic room. Overall, it's a great value.

Veronica Hotel

by Dave from Thailand, 31 Mar 07

We stayed in a deluxe room which had a large circular bed which was different, but comfortable. A good sized rain shower, with decent water pressure. The toilet and sink are separated from the bedroom by a see-through curtain which may be uncomfortable for some, although fine for us.

Easy walk to MRT for access to city but could take a while depending on where you are heading.

Very good hotel, if u familiar with Bangkok

by ONG CHEE WEI from Malaysia., 27 Feb 07

Depend on what u want in Bangkok. For shopping, it far from city. But a lot of Thai people local market around there also, a good cheap shopping place also, cheaper than city a lot.

For men, hehehe very very near Poseidon and etc spa place. Good value to stay there, save a lot of taxis fee. Go to Poseidon or Emmanuel spa only 35Bath!

About the location

by Rose from Malaysia, 6 Feb 07

Good hotel, but the location is not very convenient. Jusco, Robbinson & Carrfour shows in the map is actually quite far from the hotel (about 2 km). No food stalls nearby the hotel.

MRT station is nearby but I'm more prefer to travel by BTS. We took taxi to Siam city center (near Siam Paragon, Erawan Shrine) and each time need to pay toll.

Highway is in front of the hotel, traffic is busy until 3-4 am.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

Good value for money. Detailed review in my blog.

by bbmamababa from Hong Kong, 23 Jan 07

It's our first time to stay in VR, and the overall impression was good. The reason why we picked this hotel was the price and the reviews from this website. Though it is not located in downtown, it takes you just 2 mins' walk from Exit 4 of Sutthisan MRT station. It is especially good when you plan to go shopping at Chatuchak, coz it is just 5 stations away. You can also go to Lumphini (where the Suan Lum night bazzar locates) and Silom conveniently by MRT.

We'd stayed in a suite with Jacuzzi. The room was huge and spacious. The water flow for Jacuzzi was a bit too slow, so it took >30 mins to fill it *_*

The hotel does not have a luxurious set up, but it is cozy and comfortable. Staff cannot speak good English, but they are friendly and willing to give a hand when needed.

The breakfast buffet is so so. If they could keep the food hotter, it would be nicer. Not much choice but acceptable.

Next time when my itinerary includes Chatuchak, definitely I will stay in VR again.

Fantastic Residence Veronica

by MATTEO from ITALY, 24 Dec 06

Fantastic Hotel and fantastic staff in Veronica. Near MRT and near at area shopping (Thailand Cultural center). You can move by taxi in city centre about 80 Baht. It is not expensive and staff don't speak very good English but they are careful with client. Kiss for Veronica staff.

Nice room

by Hartono Halim from Singapore, 19 Dec 06

Good place to stay. I stayed in the suite and was delighted by the sheer size. The bad thing is that you can seldom get a taxi to the hotel or from the hotel. The subway is very near though. Wouldn't mind staying here the next time.
