I'd like to be there right now!

by Bernhard Oehler from Germany, 30 Sep 08

Briefly, it's a very nice hotel ... clean, silent, friendly, helpful staff, good restaurant, good value ... safe place and close to some nightlife ;) working wifi in rooms, also the front desk took good care of my MacBook when I was out, thanks for that!

I would go back if it was located somewherelse

by Anonymous User from France, 3 Sep 08

Woraburi Sukhumvit is quite good for people who don't need extreme comfort. The room is clean and the bed is good quality but could even be better if the plastic protection under the sheet was removed ... the swimming pool is small but clean, you can relax in the water but can't swim.

I would recommend to stay there because of the price and of the service but not because of the location . The hotel is almost at the end of Soi 4, each time you need to go to the subway you have to pass by all the sordid bars, at night it's awful. Nana square is awful.

average hotel with long walk

by K.K.L from London, UK, 21 Aug 08

Location is far away, expect a long walk down soi 4 but you get to see loads of things along the way! Hotel room is reasonable with a big hot shower! TV has many channels to choose from but half are in Thai.

The beds are old and not comfortable, the table is too small to do anything! the window provides no view & the room could be cleaner! Free TukTuk service is not always there so be prepared to wait a long time or walk!

Try the Tai Pan Hotel instead.

by Random Person from AZ, United States, 6 Jul 08

The picture looks far better then it really is. I was really surprised (in a bad way) about the accommodations. I could get better at a motel 6 for about the same price after price conversion. Rooms smelled bad on the second stay.

The location is okay, near the main drag. Pretty of bars very close by too, if is that is your thing.

I personally will not be spending my money on this hotel again. I took a tour of the Tai Pan hotel while I was in Bangkok. For about 500 to 1000 baht more, you get a far better room, and I think a much better value.

The Heart of The City

by Mark Francis Lucas from Victoria, Australia, 12 Apr 08

Great Hotel. Staff are always very helpful. Location terrific, very close to Skytrain and all the major shopping centers. MBK,The Big C, Imax Cinema, Underwater World all short Taxi drive or about $1or $2 on the back of a Motor Bike Taxi.

Hotel has wireless high speed internet for your Laptop.

It has swimming pool and bar on the roof with great views of the city at night. A lot of young Europeans seem to stay there. The buffet breakfast is excellent and the food in general is of high standard.

Just off the beaten path

by Joe Doaks from CA, United States, 5 Mar 08

A great discovery! If it were 100 meters closer to Sukhumvit it would be perfect, but you can take the hotel's tuk-tuk shuttle or pay 20 baht for a bike. No big deal. Other than that, good breakfast buffet (included), nice room, friendly staff. I was very happy there.

Better than expected

by Julie and Kevin from England, 20 Jan 08

After reading some pretty poor reviews, we prepared ourselves for the worst, but were very pleasantly surprised. Arriving at 07.30 am. our receptionist was extremely pleasant and courteous. We hadn't expected our room to be ready but it soon was. This was also of a fair standard and bigger than expected.

Small pool on 5th floor with bar was a haven from the hassle - good friendly service there too. Menu had a good choice and portions a good size. Buffet breakfast repetitive but still lots of choice.

Concierge very helpful with information and directions etc, if in doubt just ask.
Hot spot for internet also a bonus.

I have very little to say

by Rashard Maybank from South Carolina, United States, 1 Nov 07

Well, I reserved a room 3 months in advance. When I arrived they said it would not be ready for another day. That ended my stay there very quickly.Next time I will reserve my room 6 months in advance.

BETTER VALUES ELSEWHERE

by gvan from NYNY, 3 Oct 07

This hotel is NOT 'guest friendly' and charges 300Baht for guests. If you make a reservation in a standard room and do not get 'upgraded' you have a VERY small room badly in need of renovation. Some hotel staff are VERY 'unfriendly'. This hotel is quite a long walk from Suk. Better values to be found in better locations.

Single Guys - Awesome/Family Guy - Not recommended

by Chris from North Orange County, CA (USA), 12 Dec 06

I arrived middle of October, 2006. I found the location to be excellent (close to the BTS and some other recreational activities **wink wink). I'm single and I thought it was all great. I wouldn't recommend this place to honeymooners or families with children. But for us single guys it was the best! In most cases you HAVE to walk by all the street walkers and soap land places to get to the hotel (at 5 pm it's like a prostitute flea market on the corner about 150 meters away).

Something else, I did find the location to be in a very 'touristy' area. For me, I don't necessarily like that when I travel. The maid service was excellent (except once when they forgot to clean my room - not sure why); and I was disappointed on my room location, they had me near the street! So, if you go, make sure you get your room in the back.
