Far from town but quiet and peaceful
by Chad from USA, 13 Feb 06
You have to want peace and quiet to stay here. The resort is about 20 minutes from the night bazaar. Very few taxi drivers and other hotels for that matter knew where the resort was located. The first time we needed to go to town we got a driver through the resort and we used him every time. Other taxi drivers had to call the resort many time to get there and the trip was around 500 baht.
If you want a romantic getaway this is a good place. the landscaping is beautiful and setting is quite peaceful.

Looking for a honeymoon place? This is it!!
by Florian Rock from Munich, Germany, 7 Mar 06
We sincerely enjoyed our stay at Baan Deva Montra Hotel. We stayed at a Deluxe Pool Villa and having our private swimming pool was just perfect. This is a place for nature lovers, very quiet with plenty of bird life around, yet not very far from downtown Chiang Mai. The only inconvenience we encountered was the lack of regular transport to town. Hotel management should think of providing free transportation to Chiang Mai (15 Minutes drive), instead of relying on meter taxis only.

Fantastic
by Kari from Seattle, WA, 8 Jul 06
My husband and I loved this resort. All of the employees were so kind and truly wanted us to have the best experience. We rented a car, which worked out great. It is very inexpensive and easy to get around, I highly recommend renting a car when traveling in Thailand.
The food was wonderful and the cottages were very clean and nice. The surroundings were fantastic so beautiful and quiet.
One of the workers even took us to the night bazaar.
I highly recommend I will visit again.

Helpful staff and disabled friendly!
by Mr Peter Wadwell from England, 25 Nov 06
Beautiful location and lovely staff. They could not do enough for us. The location requires transport of some kind. Hire car recommended and staff at the resort happy to help with this. Worth arranging this prior to arrival to give yourself freedom to get around. However the staff were very helpful with lifts where possible.
I am disabled and use a wheelchair for distances. I found the resort to be fairly accessible apart from the gravel drives in front of the villas. Staff were really helpful to me and often just appeared when I got out of the car to ensure I was OK. The villas themselves have a step at the entrance and usually one or two steps within the villa ie. out to the pool or into the bathroom.
I loved the outdoor bath and enjoyed a nightly bath looking up at the stars. The rooms were fabulous in Lanna style. The location is a little paradise 15 mins drive from the city of Chiang Mai.
Worth visiting the Old city and taking a horse carriage tour - 200bht - I loved this! River cruise not worth doing and access is appalling for people with mobility problems!
I would thoroughly recommend this resort but make sure you have a good map if you hire a car - it is easy to get lost!
