A quiet place to relax
by Geoffrey Lim Chong Chun from Singapore, 2 Aug 06
I find the the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and pleasant too. The temperature in the shower were not consistent which I have to adjust the tap now and then when taking the shower. My last day stay at the hotel, the water from the tap was brownish in colour which looks dirty to me. Location is a little inconvenient to town as the transport cost to town was not cheap either.
The overall surrounding were nice, quite and peaceful. A good place to relax.

Wish we'd stayed longer!
by Leigh Olver from Bristol, England, 23 Apr 06
We wanted to stay in a resort that was right in the middle of nowhere but had everything we wanted i.e. friendliness, scenery, pool, good food and comfy beds. This resort has it all! The staff were very helpful - we'd booked to stay at a resort along the road which was terrible - they helped us contact the agency and transfer the booking over (stay away from the Phu Jaya resort!!!) - so I have nothing but praise for them! They also provided us with maps for our drive to Pia.
I only wish that I had booked to stay in their sister resort in Pia as we were so impressed with the service and accommodation. The pool is great, food good - although a little expensive for Thailand but about right for a posh resort. We only wish that we had been able to stay longer! I'd definitely recommend it!

Would definitely return.
by Arabella Spence, 14 Feb 06
A great place away from the madding crowds. We were upgraded to a house in the grounds - perfect for the children with a great wooden playground opposite the terrace. The elephants were great and the service superb. About 1/2 hour from the city so not too far and on the other side of the valley from most of the other out of town resorts.

We'll stay there again on our next visit to Chiang Mai.

The staff are helpful and friendly and they provide good service. The Terrace Restaurant serves good Thai food using fresh ingredients and they're simply delicious! The peaceful, quiet and safe resort setting made our stay at Belle Villa comfortable and pleasant.

Good to be outside the city.
by Mrs. Gillian Summons from The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. UK, 21 May 05
It was good to get out of the city and the elephants at the hotel were super. The view from the cheaper room, that our daughters had, was better than the one from our more expensive room. Although we could see the elephants and the locals going about their daily life.
The food was good, but breakfast was variable. The one big thing that let the hotel down was the condition of the pool, it was cloudy and had a build up of grease around the waterline. If the hotel could sort out this major problem it would give a much better impression. I'm afraid that having stayed in 3,4 & 5 star hotels it only comes up to 3 star standard.
The grounds were beautiful with all the flowers and the mountains surrounding them. I would urge guests to visit the restaurant down the hill especially as there was a free take & collect service. The food and atmosphere were excellent.
