DO NOT ENTER!

by Mark G from United Kingdom, 10 Mar 08

The food was very, very bad. Breakfast consisted of mainly the cheapest processed ingredients.

Dinner was served by brooding, unfriendly staff. Music entertainment was by far the worst i have ever heard.

The singing was so bad that the songs were somehow familiar but I couldn't tell what they were.

The words cat and in pain are descriptive.
The music made the food seem even worse than it was.

Room service was fast but they failed to collect the dirty dishes for up to 24 hours at a time.

I came to Thailand to study. I booked the hotel to give me some quiet space to relax and study in the evenings - on one occasion the hotel had booked a noisey prom style ball function - it was to loud to study or sleep that night or morning!
No one warned us that this was going to happen, or apologized the next morning.

The hotel booked my taxis for me each morning. I had to be at school at a specific time - however the front desk was badly organized and managed to book the taxi late every single morning, no matter how many times I explained the need to be punctual and no matter how many times they said sorry.

I got the impression that the manager was on holiday and the hotel was being run by teenagers.

I ended up cutting my stay short and left after only 3 days.
I was offered no refund and no body seemed interested to find out why I was leaving early.

I wasn't the only guest to check out early as there were many angry guests at the front desk the morning after the prom!

The only helpful staff were the drivers, who were always very friendly and helpful.
The greenlake resort is pretentious and expensive for what it is.

Do not be fooled by the decoration - the service let this place down badly. I would never go back to this hotel - ever.
You can't buy class.

I ended up in a backpackers guest house - the service at PUN PUN guest house is second to none!

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND STAY ELSE WHERE!

by George from Essex, United Kingdom, 9 Mar 08

There is a an eerie atmosphere which is not helped by the attitude of the staff.
None of the tuk-tuk drivers know where the resort is located.

It looks very peaceful and tranquil but actually is not. We cut our stay short and so did other people who were booked in at the same time we were there. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND STAY ELSE WHERE!

Worth, Nice Atmosphere

by Tay from Singapore, 5 Apr 08

I have been many hotels in Chiang Mai, almost it is in the downtown and everyone recommended me to stay near the night market but when I were at Green Lake Resort Chiang Mai I think it was better...

The tourist come to Chiang mai, they would like to relax, wouldn't they? even though the Green Lake's quite far from the city but actually take the time just only 15 minutes. And they have the shuttle van go to the town, it's Free!!! I paid for the room that was suitable for everything..

The Atmosphere was very nice, good lake view. Staff & everyone are very polite.

I think someone who don't like here because they may be expected that the hotel would be high Class but actually they are the resort.

Pretty room, far from dowtown

by Gui from Paris, 8 Sep 06

Nice resort but far from town (20 mins drive, 150 Baht one way) nothing outside the hotel except a golf field. The hotel restaurant is good and reasonably priced, no bar, no cafe.

Recent construction, clean suite (separate linving room) with big balcony. Only Thai channels on TV. No buffet breakfast during low season, they serve a basic American (eggs bacon sausage and toasts) or Asian (rice soup with meat) breakfast.

Nice swimming pool but no sundeck and no towel. They seem to specialize in seminars. Reception girls seemed willing to help but their English and experience of foreigners were poor.

Pretty nice resort

by Valerie, 9 Nov 06

There's a sundeck, English tv channels, bar and beer garden when I stayed there. The staffs are friendly but most are not very good at English and are not professional in hotel service.

Our deluxe room is very nice and clean. And we really like a cozy sitting area facing the lake with wireless internet signal.

We had to wait ~15 minute for a taxi which a receptionist called for us.

There's a spa and we tried Thai massage, very good experience. The therapist is very courtesy and professional, plus they speak good English.

I really liked the resort it was very beautiful and peaceful. It was very quiet at night. It was a little bit further out from the city, not everyone know where it was.

I miss this nice place

by Wilfried Drothen from Germany, 30 Oct 07

I like this beautiful place. Very nice view to the sea and the mountains. Good place to relax. Only the breakfast can be longer. I think 10.30 isn't better for long sleeper. The massage service was very ... very good.
