Give this one a miss
by Padraig O Luanaigh from United Kingdom, 3 Apr 08
Overall a disappointing hotel. The restaurant is the worst aspect however given the remote location it is a major issue. The service and quality of fd - dining area is totally unacceptable.
The rooms are large, however the resort is run down and needs major attention at all levels.
Travel to other locations takes time and given the remote location it is a negative rather than a positive.

The 4-Element (Earth, Water, Wind, Fire) Spa and food!
by Mr. Lee from Singapore, 10 May 07
The accommodation is a 2-BR suite, nice and comfortable. I can feel like home even though the staffs can't speak English well, but they try to do their best. Okay, because of boutique hotel 10 suites.
The 4-Element (Earth, Water, Wind, Fire) treatment or massage is very unique that customize to each person. I was born in October, so my element is Earth as the Spa consultant tells me. She advises me what I should take care my own body and how is the food matched for good health.
Jirung also has the 4-Element food menus which are authentic Thai cuisine, and benefit for health. Must try!

The suite is a 2-bedroom type that is good value for family members or 4 pals.

The location is great view of Mae Rim valley, so it couldn't be better to find for sanctuary place!

When can I go back
by Sherwood from California, 7 Mar 06
I had read about the Jirung on the internet..it far exceeded my expectations and the other reviews...It only has ten suites..really apartments with wonderful verandas...a beautiful lake with large tortoises and fish...the swimming pool is heated...lovely...the hotel was full and we felt like we were the only ones there most of the time.
Ahh the spa...on the top floor we had the entire area to ourselves...sauna, massages, wraps, and the scented jacuzzi..all with a view and privacy. The best part was the incredible staff...sensitive, caring and wonderful treatments....my only regret....I had to leave to go back to the city.

Do not go there if you looking to be pampered
by Sue-ann Lim from Singapore, 30 Jul 05
I was rather disappointed with my stay. The rooms were very spacious but uninspiring. The view was nothing to shout about. It felt more like a service apartment then a hotel. The staff was friendly - in particular one of the hotel managers. The food was authentic and good. As a regular spa-goer, I found the spa treatments to be very average and not value for money. I had a more pampering experience in the spa that I visited within Chiang mai city.
I would not go back to Jirung.

You should try once in your life.
by Lies from Holland, 22 May 05
Even though, the hotel is not in the city center, but it compensates traveling with the nice view and privacy. I love the room, the staffs are just friendly and you will absolutely love the swimming pool!
