Good value for money

by George Gebbie from Auckland, New Zealand, 30 Oct 05

Well appointed position and good value for money. Breakfast included in the rate offered a good, substantial variety. The standard room was bigger than most. Swimming pool was functional but was crowded with more than four people trying to have a swim!

The hotel foyer appears grand and extremely opulent on entry. However for an 8 year old hotel, there were telltale signs of a tired, run-down building which had obviously seen better days.

Fault in bathroom was most irritating. Water tend to leak onto tiled floor during shower due to poor design or workmanship?

Lots of little red ants emerging from the woodwork literally! Got into everything unsealed.

We will go back

by Sirinya S. from Thailand, 9 Oct 06

My friend from Malaysia want to stay near the night bazaar. This hotel can answer this question and the price is inexpensive (during that time). It is very convenient to shopping night bazaar every night after we get back from travelling. In addition, it is very easy to get public transportation.

Would stay again only for one night (hot shower & buffet breakfast)

by T from Australia, 2 Oct 07

Was a a one night stay before moving to Julie Guest house. Long flight from Australia to Bangkok, then changed for Chang Mai and straight to Royal Lana.

Picked this place as was mid range hotel, wanted comfort and a/c for first night sleep.

Very good location, on top of Night Markets. Central for CM. Everything you need also close by. Buffet Breakfast was included - good variety.

Was trouble with plumbing in bathroom though, water did leak from the bathroom sink all over the floor and down the bathroom drain. Rooms were not bad but were not anything more than basic, with our expectations of a comfy bed not fulfilled. Furniture look old for a new hotel.

Royal Lana does the job, but would rather something like Julie Guest house for a Chang Mai experience. Would have stayed longer if we enjoyed it more.

The location of this hotel is very good, the staff are very friendly and kindly but the room is bland, no furniture, I didn't like the room but it was clean and comfortable.

Easy location

by mee from usa, 6 Aug 05

I enjoy stay in this hotel and the location is the best seller for someone travel alone.

Only thing is there is no hotel shuttle only expensive taxi from the bell boy.. so I walk to the hotel next door and they have the shuttle service for hotel for $60B so it work out fine!

Value in heart of Chiang Mai

by Morgan Evans-Ramos from Seattle, WA, 22 May 05

Location was ideal to spend time at the night bazaar. Great value would recommend and stay again. Complimentary buffet was mediocre and mattress was rather firm for my travel worn back.

Minor blemishes for an excellent and affordable center of operations while seeing the area.

I liked that Royal Lanna is very close to the Night Market. The breakfast buffet is good, you can get your coffee from an automatic espresso machine. Would definitely go back to RL if I go to Chiang Mai again.

I will be back.

by vivadhana rushatakankovit from Los angeles, CA., 15 May 06

Usually, I will stay at the Royal Princess hotel anytime I am in Chiang mai. But this time , I want to try out a new place like Royal Lana Hotel because I can not resist the price and the location. I will be back again in August 2006 all the way from Los Angeles, CA. I am very happy to stay there although it is nothing outstanding but it is comfortable enough. It cannot be better for all the actions around the Hotel.

I do not mind if the hotel can improving the layout of the room and changing the color in the room with different color either on each floor or on the same floor, white white and white or over here called the navajo or almond white.

You will see again soon.
