Empress was a pleasure
by Tim and Charley from USA, 1 May 06
The staff was very nice and helped us a lot. We had Thai friends stay with us and did not moved us into a triple without gouging or complaining about anything.
There were many mosquitoes in the exercise room so we passed on that. Nice pool with deck and poolside cafe with tables. Great place for kids.
Very nice lobby and foyer.
Tuk tuk touts entrenched down the adjacent soi, give that a pass.

Chian Mai Empress is a great place to stay - really.
by Terry R CURREY from West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, 10 Nov 07
The Empress Hotel was a really great experience for us all. Although some renovation was taking place to the conference centre (a separate building to the hotel) it did not spoil our stay whatsoever. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was very good, with the usual choices. Rooms were excellent, and spotless with excellent views towards the hills. The pool was also great. I will certainly return to this hotel again. The staff are a credit to the hotel, they made our stay in Chiang Mai wonderful. Thank you!
Location although not central, is no problem, as a short walk to the night bazaar and centre, will do everyone a world of good.
