Stay soon as the prices are bound to go up

by Jonathan Thornton from London,, 14 Feb 06

What you see on the website is what you get. Stay soon as the prices are bound to go up as its reputation spreads. It really is 5 minutes from the night market and river heart of Chiang Mai yet it is a tranquil area because it is in a lagoon in the middle of, and well away from, 4 main roads.

Its competitors are either the same sort of price but in need of refurbishment or in similar good condition and 50-100% more expensive.

Amazing!

by Teena from Kuala Lumpur, 13 Feb 06

A very comfortable stay. The manager went to great lengths in making our stay as comfortable as possible. I love the design of the hotel - very personalised. Even though it is located practically at the night bazaar, it is extremely quiet at night - you'd be undisturbed. Pricing wise - as expected considering it is a 4star hotel.

Love at first sight

by Mona Ivarson from Stockholm, Sweden, 10 Feb 06

As soon as we saw it we knew that we had made a good choice. Like an oasis in the bustling city. One problem, though, the first day we got lost and nobody knew about the hotel because it was quite new. In the future there will be no such problems.

Our favorite hotel in Thailand!

by Susan Nichol from Carnation, Wa., 28 Feb 06

Yaang Come Village was an true oasis in bustling Chiang Mai. Set back for the street with beautiful grounds, Thai style buildings and a wonderful swimming pool, you wouldn't know that it was only a short walk from the night market.

The service couldn't have been better from the arrival greeting with a cool towel and refreshing drink to the turn down service at night. There was always some one close to meet any of our needs.

This was our first time in Thailand and after seeing at other hotels during our stay in Chiang Mai, we were very happy that we had chosen Yaang Come Village.

Paradise

by James Morrow from Tucson, Arizona USA, 7 Mar 06

This little piece if paradise is beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful place to relax., and yet located in the heart of town, near shopping, dining and exciting night markets.

Our traditional Thai room was lovely, spacious, and clean. The staff is friendly, helpful, and most accommodating. The restaurant is clean and the food is excellent. The morning buffet is a treat. The travel staff arranged a perfect sightseeing day and all intercity transportation with utmost professionalism. I highly recommend Yaang Come.

A fabulous discovery

by Victoria Southwell from London, 19 Apr 06

This is a lovely hotel in a really convenient location. It is really peaceful yet the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai is amazingly seconds away and the wonderful night market just round the corner. The staff are lovely and really accommodating and end to ensure that the atmosphere is relaxed and tranquil. The restaurant at the end of the drive serves some of the nicest food I ate in Thailand and the little coffee shop is great too.

A hotel gem in the middle of Chiang Mai

by R & S from Newaygo, Michigan, 5 Apr 06

We loved Yaang Come Village! The grounds and rooms are beautifully decorated Thai style, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the location couldn't be better. What a pleasant surprise to find this oasis of tranquil greenery just a few minutes walk from the Night Market.

Flabbiest place I have ever stayed

by Tina Harvey from UK, 19 Apr 06

We had the family room which has two beds in the living area and a separate room with a double bed which was fab as we don't like all being in the same room. It was a great location for the night bazaar and my husband found a great tailors just across the street (turn right). Also the free internet access was really useful to send home a few pics.

This was the nicest place I have ever stayed and a real treat everything was great and I would definitely book it again. The food was pretty good also.

A Delightful Deal

by James Woodcock from Jakarta, Indonesia, 19 Apr 06

We stayed at the Yaag Come (named for the banyan-like yaang come tree planted by the mother of the owner) Village Hotel on April 16, 2006, right after the end of the Songkran festival. We felt immediately the care and details intended to delight the guests of an uncrowded boutique hotel with 4 minutes walk to the night market and easy auto access to the Nawarat bridge and the road to Chiang Rai.

The wall fixtures fit plugs from most countries so there was no need for an adaptor. The ceiling lamp was Northern Thai style, and each room had an original Thai style wall painting by an unnamed artist. There were local painted umbrellas in each room, fresh fruit, a DVD player, and free wireless Internet connection that must have been DSL because it was fast. In the large bathroom, for the men there was a standing urinal and for the ladies, a hand-operated spray by the toilet. For romantic couples there was a two-person bathtub next to the standing shower. The mirrors in both the bedroom and bahroom were decorated with small pieces of glass and hand-carving. Matching elephant-decorated robes and sandals were provided in the wardrobe.

The free breakfast incuded small croissants that compared with those anywhere in the world. The freshly- squeezed orange juice was made from exquisitely sweet small honey-oranges, a special orange from Fang district that happened to be in season. It sells for $2 a glass in the restaurant at night, but it was free at breakfast. The pineapple was sweeter than pineapples from Palembang, Indonesia, which we knew previusly as the sweetest of all pineapples.

The attentions of the staff were wonderful, and they all praised the owners, a Northern Thai couple who have many Westerner friends, and who have tried to make the hotel a work of art as well as a friendly and comfortable place to stay. They sell anti-mosquito lotion at the reception desk, and it is effective during mosquito season.

The hotel is within easy walking distance from restaurants and right next door to the Whole Earth Indian and Thai restaurant. We felt the Yaang Come Village was a real deal, and we will stay there again.
