Huai Khum Village Resort Overview

Huai Khum Resort, 16 kilometers from Tha Thon, Chiang Mai, is located on 26 rai of orchard facing the Mae Kok River. In winter, visitors awaken to mist that blankets the river until 09:00 am. The beauty of northern Thailand can be revealed at the Huai Khum Resort here.

All of the bamboo cottages are on the hillside offering panoramic views of the Mae Kok River meandering through the villages and western toilet. Arriving by long tail boat, visitors first see the resort's swimming pool. The path continues, leading visitors to the open restaurant facing the Mae Kok River. In the evening, a group of teenage girls from the nearby tribal village sing songs in their language, wishing for happiness and good health for travelers. Throughout the resort, bamboo decor is the theme and even the ceiling fans are covered with bamboo.

Visitors can use Huai Khum Resort as a base camp, traveling by long tail boat to ride elephants at the Ruammit Elephant camp (about one hour), visit the long neck Karen (about fifteen minutes), or purchase handmade clothes.

It take two hours to travel to the resort by long tail boat from the boat pier near Rimkok hotel in Chiang Rai city. The scenic journey along the Mae Kok river, passing through jungles, is pleasant and refreshing. Along the river, there are hilltrible people fishing, washing clothes and raising buffalo. This peaceful resort along the river, and the surrounding countryside, absolutely deserve your exploration.
