Loved the peace and tranquility
by Heather from England, 3 Feb 06
Ideal for a relaxing get away from it all, peaceful rest. The rooms have DVD and CD players. Take your own (or buy copies locally). Breakfast can be a bit disorganised part self service part waiter service but the home made breads and yoghurts are wonderful. Try an omlette rather than the so called 'american breakfast' 60 Baht.
Tuk-tuk to the night bazaar where there is a local night market and excellent very cheap eating places. Nightly shows for free. 60 Baht to the Big C hypermarket. Ask reception to call for a cab for you & get a card to show the tuktuk driver for your return.
Easy to get to Laos and Burma from here too. Book trips from the hotel or there are loads of places in the city centre. Unspoilt Thailand compared to ChangMai. Locals do not speak much english. You may want to take your own mosquito net though if you are there in the rainy season. There are huge gaps in the ones provided.
We were there in January and sat on the huge balcony long into the night listening the local wildlife I got one small insect bite the whole time. We were warned we would be bored here but we loved it. I would not recommend the place for children there are no facilities for them at all.
Most people stay for a stop over of one or two nights so the pool area with comfortable deck chairs foot rests and cushions is hardly used. The area is open planned with no windows in the restaurant or reception. There are some little local shops and nearby also a local well laid out park for the locals and you can walk into Chang Rai but the roads are uneven and not well lit. There are Teak steps up to some of the accommodation so if you have mobility problems make sure you get a down stairs studio or villa.
Perfectly clean good quality accommodation with helpful staff.

I like the location of this hotel ..... but it's the way to go to the hotel it's quite difficult for tourist. They should make a big name plate of the hotel.
