Good place - check room details first

by Anonymous User, 26 Dec 05

A cosy Mediterranean-style resort on the beach. Good service and a nice ambiances. Be sure to check room details first. They are very good, but the advertised 'garden-view' were actually 'car park view'.

Otherwise, recommended.

Very nice stay

by Kjell Lundqvist from Uppsala Sweden, 23 Nov 05

I did like the very friendly staff they did all they could for you. And they really took care of you. A bit of a distance though to Hua Hian center but there are always a tuk tuk to take there.

Bad Start, Great Ending!

by Pat Kay from BKK,Thailand, 21 Mar 06

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed staying at Anantasila and would love to go back very soon. We had a great time swimming in their lovely pool that’s surrounded by a “Spanish” style atmosphere (didn’t feel like we were in Thailand)! The best part was dinning at their seafront restaurant. You can’t beat where Anantasila is situated. It’s a perfect getaway! You have to go check it out. As for our room, we booked a Standard Pool View Queen Bed with balcony but had to upgrade to their Deluxe room because we wanted 1 King size bed and not 2 Queen size beds, which were informed that all standard rooms have. Plus, the standard room that we were introduced to had a bad cigarette smell (not good for allergy prone persons) and the upstairs’ compressor was dripping water onto the balcony!

You can say it was a bad start but we definitely had a great ending. Just get your room sorted out and you should be fine. Enjoy!

Perfect holiday

by Anonymous User from Australia, 20 Apr 06

I had the best holiday ever at Anantasila. As a woman travelling on my own i was made to feel safe and welcome.

I travelled into Hua Hin one afternoon and was relieved to get back to the calm, serene resort.

I cannot say enough about my stay - it was perfect. I will most certainly be back.

Paradise

by Jean and Peter from ENGLAND, 11 Apr 06

Absolutely loved this hotel, we stayed in top floor penthouse with fabulous views of beach etc. Also had three balconies so we could choose our own view. We had an open air shower and bath which was great (on the top floor, so no overlooking from other hotels). We only stayed for 3 days and then went to another hotel, however, we soon returned to Anantasila because everything about this hotel was lovely. The staff were all lovely, especially 'Apple' and we really had a lovely time here - very relaxing.

Great except for ice-cold A/C

by Anonymous User from London, 6 Feb 06

Great pool, lovely setting, OK beach, retired people and families mainly, a bit of a schlep from the town. Main complaint is room A/C was too strong and could not be adjusted. Advise you choose a room with adjustable A/C.

Going back in February 2006

by Linda Williams from ENGLAND, 18 Nov 05

This small privately run hotel is perfect for a beach holiday being the only hotel on the beach. Yet still convenient via their own transport to get into Hua Hin for night life/shopping. Very good for having clothes made. Rooms vary so check first but all spotless. Staff are so kind and helpful.

My best holiday ever! Nothing was too much trouble.

Very special place

by Sung from Thailand, 1 Mar 06

We stayed in the Penthouse 2 bedroom seafront with living room and kitchenette, which can be made connected to the junior suite 1 bedroom with living room and kitchenette.

The sea view from the balcony is unbeatable. The rooms are really spacious and clean. It's got a very cozy feeling like staying at home. Very good for family. The staff are friendly and the food there is great. The beach is unspoiled. I saw lots of hermit crabs and other kinds of sea shell on the beach and also lots of small silver colour fish swimming around.

I will go back when they change some stupid staffs there.

by Montakan Tipvimonmas from Bangkok, Thailand, 3 Nov 06

This hotel's nice, quite and good location but some staffs're pretty bad service, lier, no service-mind and unhelpful such as a cashier, receptionist and a stupid manager who're work at working time.

A hidden gem only a few hours from Bangkok

by Peter from Bangkok, 3 Nov 06

This is a hidden gem: a small hotel in a beautiful location at a reasonable price.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The room was comfortable, air-conditioning quiet and efficient, the bed firm, towels a bit worn, but adequate. The large, clean and lovely swimming pool is one of the strong attractions of this hotel, but no extra towels provided at the pool.

The location is right on a lovely beach, fringed with palm trees and fairly quiet. It is well away from the main beach in Hua Hin, perhaps 15 kilometers. Throughout the day plenty of people went into the sea, but I noticed signs, "Beware of Jellyfish".

While the location is idyllic, surrounding the hotel there is nothing but a condo and some homes. That means going to shops or restaurants requires a trip in a car or van. The hotel offers this transportation for an extra charge.

There is a very nice restaurant right in the hotel. My Thai girl friend pronounced the Thai food, "very delicious". Portions large, food quality excellent, prices surprisingly modest. There is also a large selection of European food on the menu, but I did not sample that. When I ordered a specially prepared Thai dish, it was done perfectly.

Because the location is outside the centre of Hua Hin, getting there can be awkward. From Bangkok, requires a combination of train, bus, mini-van, or airplane, and then either a taxi-truck or a call for the hotel car. I found the most convenient was simply to hire a taxi in Bangkok to go direct to the hotel.

The other guests were almost all middle-age Europeans.

For a quiet, relaxing, stay, on the West coast of the Gulf of Thailand, this hotel is ideal. However, the rates and extra charges for transportation are too high to attract budget travelers/backpackers.

And for those seeking entertainment, shopping, or nightlife, there is none anywhere within walking distance.
