"WOW - Spectacular"

by Ange from Melbourne, Australia, 12 Aug 08

We have just returned from an 8 nights stay at Baan Bayan and let me tell you it was everything we had hoped it would be. It only has 21 rooms so most of the time you feel like you are the only guests. The staff are fantastic and very friendly. It is right on the beach, 100 baht tuk tuk ride to all bars and restaurants and walking distance to a night market.

We stayed in a deluxe garden view room and it was spectacular - the only down side was that we had no private balcony, however the rooms are so big it did not matter. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return!

Maybe (if everywhere else is full)

by Kim, 6 Jun 06

We stayed there for two nights. The atmosphere is very nice. Room decoration was worth the money we spent. The location is not too bad, not too far from the night market. However, it took some noticing to locate the entrance.

Now, the down side. The room we stayed in was full of mosquitoes. We had to ask them to spray some bug spray both nights. Some of the staff was unprofessional, loud and slow.

Serene tranquility in tourist-filled Hua Hin

by Lise from Denmark, 11 Jun 06

After 3 weeks of travelling in Thailand -from Bangkok, Chiang Mai in the north to Baan Klang Aow in the south, we viewed the very tourist-crowded center of Hua Hin with dismay - From Denmark we had prebooked a room at the Baan Bayan Hotel, knowing it only through the Internet.

We found a lovely boutique hotel, beautiful buildings restored around quiet lounge areas, pools and gardens, and a private beach. Beach beds for everyone and serving of refreshments alongside. The very top of our 5 day stay however was the evenings, spent dining on Thai-seafood by the seaside just the two of us with only the sound of the waves to be heard.

All the other guests seemed to prefer the noise and bustle of the copy-shop center of town., while we were being pampered by the staff, the sounds and the smells.

We highly recommend this lovely villa.

Impressive staffs. Spankling clean and large room. Relaxing atmosphere. A pleasant place to stay.

by Pam from BKK, 1 Dec 06

The buildings are beautifully restored albeit with their location a little far from the beach. The room we stayed is on the second floor of a back building so the view isn't that great. In room facilities are quite adequate. They include DVD player which you can play movies available at the front desk for borrowing. The bed is comfortable and the cleanliness of the room is on the plus side.

Breakfast is excellent and it's included in the room price. Not a very wide range but enough to satisfy your appetite in the morning.

Most of the staffs are welcoming, friendly and helpful. We felt relaxed for our whole stay at this small hotel.

Perfect place.

by Darika Hastie from Melbourne Australia, 1 Feb 07

Baan Bayan is a quiet and unique hotel. I felt like I was stepping back in time, so peaceful even though the busy beach is right at the front step. It is a well managed boutique hotel in good location .We had a wonderful time here.
This hotel might seem to be expensive for those who like a typical hundred room hotel.

The Bayan is one of the most beautiful hotels properties I've ever stayed in and the town of Hua Hin is lovely. The rooms are elegant and the beach service is gentile. Book it!

We had a wonderful time, it is a small and cosy hotel. The rooms were perfect, we felt at home there. The staff were also very friendly. Only breakfast could be better.

Baa Bayan - the best place in Hua Hin

by George, 7 Mar 07

I spent in Baan Bayan part of my holiday with my spouse. Everything was excellent, quite place, kind staff, perfect swimming pool and very good, clean sandy beach. I can suggest for all who like quite and comfortable stay in Hua Hin Baan Bayan as No.1.

If I will have an opportunity to go again in Thailand, I know where to go.

Wouldn't stay there again

by Ron & Linda from Victoria, BC, 8 Mar 07

We stayed for 8 nights in the Seaview Villa and thought it was very overpriced - $143 euro's a night. The advertise it as the "perfect room for honeymooners". For that price we expected a separate sitting room from the bedroom but all it had was a bedroom and a very nice bathroom.

It did have it's own large deck which was nice to come home to in the afternoon, away from the busy beach. The pool is about the size of a postage stamp.

Most of the staff are very nice and the room was very clean. However, my husband accidentally broke a glass and I had to ask twice for housekeeping and then had to sign an invoice to pay $3.00 for it!! Also, be careful if making long distance calls - our bill included $18.00 for a call we made to Canada that didn't go through. They did deduct it eventually.

It's a nice hotel but I certainly wouldn't recommend booking the Seaview Villa - go with one of the cheaper rooms. The location is excellent.

A big diasappointmen

by Nicole from The Netherlands, 4 Apr 07

We stayed 4 nights, in March in the the Inadra suite of the old building. This suite is situated on the 1st floor. Unfortunately a very bad choice as the breakfast kitchen is under this suite. So every morning at 05.00 am we heard the thumps and bumps of shades and doors being unlocked and opened and cutlery being laid out.

Staff was friendly, but could not converse in English, and were very slow and took no own initiative. What completely irritated me was that other beach bathers came into the hotel grounds to use the lavatory and pool shower. No staff member said a word to these people, even though there was a sign reading "only for hotel guests".

We will not return here.
