A nice break at Baan Duangkaew
by Theresa from Hong Kong, 13 May 06
The road leading to the resort & the surrounding environment was a bit shabby & the reception area & restaurants were far from impressive. However, the staff were very friendly & helpful at all times. The bungalow type accommodation was just what we expected, clean and extremely comfortable, though you can't stay late in the mornings because of the early sunshine through the roof windows.
A small & quiet resort with the 2 pools (small but a sense of privacy) right in front of the bungalows. Beach (Hua Hin's beach is for strolling rather than swimming - water too shallow & rough) is a short distance from the resort & the resort also conveniently provided their guests with a bag with 2 towels for use. Free bicycles for short rides, though they're a bit old, it served my need very well (a trip to the Budda at the end of the beach). Free internet round the clock in a room next to the reception, a great bonus to me.
If you want a bit of luxury during your stay but without going back to town, suggest you can have tea, dinner or spa at the new & tastefully decorated Woraburi hotel nearby (like a mini Sofitel). Taxi from town 100B, motorcycle 50B

Totally satisfied
by john gray from norway, 30 Dec 06
6 stars for value people. We stayed here in Oct 05 and were very impressed, big enough for a small family of 4 (2yr old in cot and 4 yr old on the day lounge). Staff were very helpful cannot fault them. Restaurant theatre next door with traditional Thai music at nights very pleasant to hear when relaxing just what the doctor ordered. We actually stayed an extra 2 nights as we were impressed.

Once tried, Forever trusted
by GOBIND from Bangkok, Thailand, 18 Dec 07
This is a very beautiful, small, and romantic resort hotel. It was perfect for us as our first wedding anniversary trip. The bungalows are traditional Thai design and of good size, very clean, very comfortable. The whole resort is surrounded with lush greenery. Staffs were very polite. The breakfast had two set options : American Breakfast or Oriental breakfast. Both were made freshly when ordered although there could be more variety to choose from. There were no cereals or yogurts.
Location is very good for a relaxed stay. It is out from the hussle and bussel of the city. We had our own car, so transportation was not a problem.
I would definitely go back there for another holiday.

Taxi in Hua Hin
by Makoto Hioki from IL, United States, 7 Feb 08
Little far out from city center. Would be nice if there is a free shuttle bus service (even a couple of times a day...) to/from the down town. Taxi/Tuk-Tuk driver is just sooooooo bad, all they want is 100 - 150 baht no matter where you want to go, a few blocks or 20 blocks. They are enough reason not come back to Hua Hin again.

An OK resort
by Jenny Hoon from Malaysia, 30 Jun 08
Checked in around 8pm into Room 202. 1st nite, the shower was either too hot or too cold.It took forever to shower my 2 years old daughter having to wait for the warm shower. Next day, after spending 1.5 hours waiting for heater to be repaired, we ended up having cold water for shower on the second night. Toilet was blocked on the second night as well. They managed to repair both heater and toilet the next day but we were checking out then. Too bad.
Everyone was quite attentive except for one particular waitress who was not happy with us for refusing to be seated next to a smoker at the restaurant. It would have been an OK resort if it wasn't for the heater and toilet problem.
