Boat Lodge Resort Hua Hin Reviews & Ratings

We really enjoyed our stay the staff is wonderful, they helped us book taxi to Bangkok, order food etc. The place is very close to the beach, nice small pool.

The only downside is, that the place is a bit outside Hua Hin town, and they were no good restaurants near by. But a taxi was 150 baht, and the price was the same even closer to town.

We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend it to friends. The only comments we would suggest to make it even better would be to extend the breakfast menu as it was the same every day. Examples we would suggest are cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bacon.

Also a place for magazines and books that people have read would be fantastic, so that you can read a book then go and swap it for another one.

Our family with a 4 1/2 year old daughter spent 8 nights at the Boat lodge over Christmas with another family. One of our reasons for picking this was that we did not have to pay for a gala dinner. Our room was in the lighthouse on the bottom floor. It was spacious although we really never used it except to sleep. The young couple who were managing the hotel were very helpful and really enjoyed having young children there. They even let my daughter and another friend borrow their children's scooter and bike to ride in the car park and got up at 5:00 am on the morning we left to make sure we got off okay. Breakfast was included. Although simple is was always hot with a choice of eggs,ham/sausage toast and fresh fruit with coffee/tea or juice. My only recommendation would be to serve filtered coffee with breakfast instead of instant coffee.

There were free computers access with internet in the reception and also in our rooms. There is not a bar to buy drinks but that wasn't a problem as we just bought our own and drank them in the evening around the pool. Even when the place was full we still had the pool to ourselves. It There was a small fridge by the main reception to purchase drinks too.

The hotel is only a few minutes walk to Kao Takiap beach where we got a sun bed each day for 50 Baht. We usually sat near the end of the sun bed area so we had a lovely view of the long beach. It was not too busy and one could walk for miles down the beach as the land was not developed.

The water was shallow and great for kids. We stayed all day most days. It is about 4 kilometres to Hua Hin so we had to get a tuk tuk. We liked the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel and Kao Takiab beach. There were lots of great places to eat on the beach and we especially liked the coconut or banana shakes at the last restaurant on the beach where we rented sunbeds. It was a perfect place to relax.

Next time we go we think we will rent scooters for the week as it is far into Hua Hin. We will be back again!
