I love all of you to see such as lovely place.

by Parisa from Bangkok, 18 Jul 08

I went to stay one night at the Rock and found that it is small but luxury as the ad. The show in front of the hotel. The first impression in the room is a big bathtub and romantic bathroom.

Moreover the room is very roomy. I hope you can visit and will be in love the romantic hotel as well. I may say this could be chic hotel.

Pls. try by your own exprerience!!!

You'll love the place

by Jim from CA, USA, 19 Jan 06

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel during New Year. We had Deluxe Suite and we only wish we could stay longer. The room was very spacious with separate bath tub and shower. The bath tub was really big with a good view of the ocean, though the water was too slow and we had to wait half an hour before it filled up.

This is newly opened "boutique" hotel (Dec 15th, 05) so everything has yet to shine. The bed is my favourite parts and I want to have one like this at home. It's soft, comfortable and big. I could stay all day long in the bed, reading my favourite books and still has a great view of the ocean. TV & DVD player is a plus but I didn't use it anyway. Air-con worked great but hot water was only not to get water too cold. Safety-box, hair dryer and coffee making facilities ready in room made our stay more comfortable.

Breakfast had a good spread but nothing special. I didn't try the dinner as there are a lot of good one outside. Should try the one on top of Kaw Ta-Keap. Really great view with delicious sea food.

Even though the location is not too convenience but we had a car. One doesn't shouldn't have too much trouble getting around. It is only about 15-20 mins to Hua-hin city center and there are mini bus to everywhere. 7-11 is also 5-10 mins of walking.

Staff were willing to help but has limited English. Check-in and check-out was easy and took only 10 mins top. Parking space was small and crowed. I had to park on the road-side and that's a little bit nervous. Facilities were also limited. No gymm, internet access or anything like big hotel.

Pools and the beach were the down side. 2 Pools are small and only for children. There was not enough sun-desk and the beach was impossible to walk down. Very high tide all day long which always reached the resort steps. But you can take the bus to beaches near by. The closest one is about 10 mins.

All in all this small boutique hotel is well suitable for couple who're looking for serenity and relaxation. Family should look elsewhere.

"Well!!! God for tourists

by Anonymous User, 25 Apr 06

The decoration is good. Service in the restaurant is sometimes annoying cause too much push of selling. Was not informed that they charge for wedding pics taking at the place!!!! Test of food is OK. Rooms are clean and nice.

It will be one of the choice for next visit...

by The Traveler, 7 May 06

Everything was excellent. There was a good dining environment and fantastic sea view to see, tho I spent the night out since there were quite a few interesting place to see nearby. The American breakfast together with Chinese congee were great choices for any visitors. The service needs to be improved a bit since I called service to check since the water was out in my room and they showed up very late, but that wouldn't reduce the pleasure of the stay much.

The room and the shower with the bath tub are also very suitable for relaxing. If you spend your time and find problem with water, must call them and rush them immediately and remember it would take almost 1 hour to fill the bath tub.

A lovely hotel for the couple

by Anonymous user, 16 May 06

The place is excellent. The room is spacious and well decorated. Staffs are very nice and friendly but the parking space is limited. Recommend to stay on weekday to avoid crowd and enjoy the facilities.

Our happiness of lifetime start here.

by ORNSURANG LAONOONCHAI from Bangkok, 5 Jun 06

I do really like in your room but it's not clean as I expected. Unfortunately, it was raining all days, therefore, I can't go swimming. The pool is so cool. If I will suggest, I would like the hotel to add more light all the pathway to the room.

Interesting concept & design

by Fabrice Berge from Tokyo, 26 Jun 06

Nicely executed boutique hotel, great staff, cool design... the way forward for Thailand, one would hope!

2 negatives however:
- A bit far out from Hua Hin center and nothing much to do & see in a walking distance. However, thanks to the frequent free shuttle back & forth that's not been an issue for us

- Built on a fairly narrow plot of land, perpendicular to the shore, therefore not a room with seaview! and bordered by rather unwholesome properties on both sides, that would have best been kept out of sight... a wider plot of land with more trees etc would have been nice...

The pool and bar are excellent!

by Yukai Lin from Taipei, Taiwan, 16 Oct 06

Location: Not far from the downtown of Hua Hin (Offer shuttle bus), but it's much more quiet then the hotel nearby the No. 4 highway...

Room: Pretty good decoration. However, the light can be better in desk or bathroom.

Service: Not bad. But there should be a room for the crew to do their routine work, they just work on the hallway.

Breakfast: There is only about 7 tables inside and 3~4 table outside. Not enough for room guest, even we stay in weekday, we have to wait for the table.

Facility: Bar, pool and the view is quite nice. The beach is only 5 steps far from the hotel pool. You should give it a try.

A General Manager who does not know what service is all about

by Dominick Ling from Singapore, 20 Nov 06

The Rock is a romantic breakaway and a great place to unwind save for the General Manager who does seem to know what SERVICE is all about.

The General Manager is someone who:

1) blatantly disregard a guest's existence and is discourteous to guests i.e. he does not have the courtesy to greet you when you visit the restaurant for your complimentary morning breakfast. Service with a smile is not to be expected of him;

2) who refuses to acknowledge that he is the General Manager when a request to speak to the General Manager was made known to him. He basically just played dumb and sat quietly in silence when a complaint was raised. For the benefit of the doubt, he speaks English; and

3) who raises his voice and asks you to shut up when a complaint was made against him.

I am sad and puzzled that such an establishment employs someone who does not know what SERVICE is all about as its General Manager.

Will not come back here

by Daniel Koning from Germany, 18 Dec 06

Food and beverage facilities are not according to a first class hotel standard! Only 1 restaurant and 1 pool bar which closes early. Limited car parking space. Superior room was very comfortable. Nice sea view!
