Klong Prao Resort Koh Chang Reviews & Ratings

We stayed here January 2008 and will be returning December 2008. We had an amazing time at the wedding of our friends. The staff were fantastic from the maids who cleaned our rooms, the staff on breakfast duty and the resorts restaurant and reception staff, even the girls who gave massages, they all made our stay in Thailand very memorable and most welcoming. The resort was really nice although perhaps a little too quiet, I would have liked a little more evening entertainment, although we were quite happy to stay in the resort in the evenings it became a little bit mundane after a while. Saying that it has not put us off returning to Klong prao resort.

I would recommend this resort to all my friends, it is extremely clean and very good value for money.

We stayed 7 nights in this resort. The resort is quite beautiful, well maintained, the swimming pool is in a good size with kiddie pool, and the beach is beautiful, clean, swimmable, and very safe for kids. The down side is during our entire stay, we can never get the beach chairs neither on the beach nor the swimming pool. They were all taken very early in the morning by other guests. It's not a big deal, but the resort definitely needs to provide more chairs for the guests.

We stayed in the VIP 2 with balcony, the room is big enough even after we request an extra bed. The room inside is very standard. Don't expect the electric kettle to make hot water, nor the hair drier, or the safety box. We were traveling with 2 kids under 5, and thought maybe can borrow from the reception like when I was in Koh Samui, but the answer is "NO" they don't have this kind of facility whatsoever.

The resort looks very nice from outside. We ate only once in the restaurant for dinner. The cooking is not bad, but little pricey. The breakfast is very nice. Lots of choices. The resort is not adjacent to the other resorts, but it's possible to walk northbound on the beach around 5-10mins to reach to the next resort (there are 3-4resorts all connected).

On the main street, only 2 local restaurants outside the KP resort, and most of the shops closed very early in the night. So we almost ate every night either on White Sand Beach (north) or Kai Bae beach (south). Coconut beach resort is another big resort on K.P beach, there is the KP Plaza cross the street with a big supermarket, and choices for the restaurants and shoppings. You can get the songtheaw (the pick-up truck) outside the resort. With 2 kids (under 5) we usually paid 100B to White sand beach, and little cheaper to Kai Bae. They are very frequent and convenient.

This resort is definitely the family resorts. Lots of kids traveling with parents. The location is very quiet, if you like to make some shopping or to choose restaurants, it's better to take a songtheaw for other beaches.
