Romantic, delicious, perfect ...
by Kristin from all over...US, UK..., 12 Jan 07

“We stayed here for a week, and it was a wonderful place. They have excellent iced coffee and fruit plates, amazing variety of delicious seafood cooked anyway you like, cheap and yummy French fries (silly, i know, but they were good!) ...

Our bungalow was right next to the beach, and you could hear the waves at night. And being as it is right on the beach, it isn't very crowded. The other guests were all nice and normal ... good place if you don't want to be serenaded by drum circles and didgeridoos and raucous drunks. The little town behind the resort has convenience stores and little shops, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, all within walking distance.

Really, it was an outstanding place. Definitely the best location in that particular area ... if you want to hang out with young hippy travelers, you can go to the Rasta bars (which all have yummy foods and cheap drinks), or if you want to be alone and romantic, there are other beach-front restaurants (although Baan Panburi is a beach-front, open air restaurant as well!).

All in all, two thumbs up. I would stay there again if I got the chance. I recommend it heartily to couples who don't want to be surrounded by backpackers.”

Baan Panburi Village Overview

Here’s a word of regret that Baan Panburi Village resort was eventually discovered by The Lonely Planet Guide Book.

This July Joe Cummings, the author of Thailand's Islands and Beaches came to stay with resort with friends without our prior notice and after he left, wrote them the following comments

"Baan Panburi Village is exactly the kind of beach place I like most. The simple clean bungalow with large windows facing the beach allow lovely views from inside. I applaud the fact that Baan Panburi Village hasn't added air conditioning to the rooms. The food here is the best Thai and Western cuisine anywhere outside Bangkok. the friendly, efficient service will surely bring Baan Panburi Village many repeat visitors, including myself. I look forward to my next stay!"

By the way, do not expect hot water, but the weather should be very tropical and warm with fresh breezes. Ceiling fan is provided as well as mosquito net to cover the bed at night. A very rustic and wonderful experience to spend time here, guaranteeing one would not want to leave when the time comes.

Location

Situated on the north east corner of Koh Pha Ngan, this secluded, newly built resort with a wide frontage of over 300 meters expanding over half the bay of white sand, crystal clear waters and lots of coconut trees was developed by the owner and his friends to provide the best up-market budget accommodation on the island.

Dining & Restaurants

Sala Rim Nam
To live to our tradition, of serving the best food on Koh Phangan (as commented by Joe Cummings, author of the Lonely Planet on Thailand Island and beach 2003) we have opened a full service section of our Sala Rim Nam Restaurant to accommodate an overflowing number of diners who patrons us nightly

Our Chef Ja, who is welknown to our repeated visitors as usual has arranged many new dishes for you to try like her spicy egg plant salad, authentic Indian masara prawns curry, vegetarian gado-gado salad to green curry pizza and not to mention the fresh succulent seafood B.B.Q from the catch of the day. And of cause if you wish Ja to prepare any special dishes for your special occasion, all you have to do is ask for her.
