We recommend this hotel as well as this island!

by Family with twin daughters from Hokkaido, Japan, 11 Feb 08

This hotel is quit comfortable especially for families with small children. The hotel compound is compact, hotel staffs are very friendly, swimming pool is fun for children, and the restaurant serves tasty food including the breakfast buffet.

Hotel is located just between the white sandy beach and local restaurants & shopping area. It is very easy to enjoy swimming in the pool in the morning, sun bathing on the beach in the afternoon, and eating out and shopping in town in the evening.

The hotel room is not gorgeous, but comfortable and clean with enough facilities including bathtub in the bath room. An electric water pot is not facilitated in the room. It may be required especially for a family with a baby.

Only problem we faced this time (in February) was the weather. The water temperature of both the swimming pool and sea is relatively low, and it was windy everyday which caused the sea rough. So it is advisable to select high season to enjoy more in swimming pool and sea.

We satisfied with not only this hotel, but also the newly renovated airport. Some part of the shopping area is still under construction, but it is very comfortable to spend time before boarding with free drinks and snacks, children’s play spot, and free Internet service, in the open area. You will also be surprised at the aquarium toilet in the airport!

Koh Samui is a quit enjoyable and well developed resort island. Actually this was our third time to visit here, but we love to come back again and again.

Lovely place to stay & had a lovely tropical feeling to it. Very clean & staff were very helpful. Direct private access to the beautiful beach. I would recommend the hotel to a friend.

Good Hotel

by Anonymous user from Germany, 18 Jun 05

In fact:
This hotel is really central on all the activity....close to beach, close to all the shopping mall, close to all the restaurants....but this hotel is not noisy...so it will be perfect for anybody who like to stay central and also not expensive.

Rooms (we stayed Deluxe Bungalow) were clean and for a 3 star hotel really comfortable.
Staffs are always friendly and ready for help.

Tip:
Apply a mosquito protect (nylon house) for your bedroom from staff because there are a lot of mosquitoes in Room (but also around the Island).

On End:
I always will make a reservation again....good hotel.

Good value

by Barry Tong from Australia, 8 Aug 05

Had a seaview room (201) and it was right on the beach. Great position. Room was good and staff fixed the TV reception as soon as asked. All very helpful. Bathroom was a bit smelly at times but main room was great. Lighting at night was, well, you wouldn't want to be reading anything. They need to do something about that. Over all good value, just out of the busy section of the beach and would recommend it.

Great Value on Chaweng!

by Ian W from Perth, WA, 9 Jul 05

Recommend and would stay again. Note that this is modest 3-star, and older, but active refurbishment will improve most rooms greatly by Christmas 2005.

Best Points: perfect part of Chaweng Beach for swimming and sun-baking; layout of rooms, nice pool, and casual restaurant is compact and great; buffet breakfast is excellent; staff friendly and helpful when things go awry. Plenty of local restaurants and shops, so no real need to head to Chaweng centre every day, 2 Km away.

Points to Note: if you seek pool-bar action and a lively restaurant, this is not for you - quiet and ideal for couples and families. A 15-20 minute walk to nightlife area, but not a problem for most needs.

Renovations were on-going but not too intrusive.

Summary: a very friendly, quiet resort with great beach and garden setting - interesting mix of international guests. Excellent value under 2500 Baht/night (and definitely use AtSiam for the best rates). IW.

More a sleeping-domicile

by Claudius Rautmann from Germany, 7 Aug 05

Location was very nice, service always ready. The hotel was crowded. We had a lot of mosquitos in our bungalow so that we had to buy a mosquito-spray. Air conditioning was not too strong. It smelled a little bit smoky even it was a non-smoking room. The room didn't look very comfortable, was more a sleeping-domicile. But you pass most of your time outside.

We will come back soon!

by Stefanie Kipfelsberger from Munich, Germany, 4 Jul 05

We liked the room a lot but not the bathroom (very old and not that clean). The location is perfect. The beach is very very nice and clean and all kinds of shops, restaurants and bars can be reached within a few minutes.

With a bit of luck good value for money!

by Petra Lang from Perth, Australia, 24 Oct 05

We liked the location, as it was not quite as busy as Central Chaweng but not too far to walk there.

The beach is pretty, the restaurant is right on the beach and is very convenient for happy hour drinks and also offers a nice breakfast buffet.
The bungalow rooms seem to vary totally. First we had an older-style comfortable room very close to the beach. We decided to try and extend our stay, but were told that we had to move. The second room was newer and furnished in very modern Asian style, but was further away from the beach and had only ocean glimpses at best. Staff was not very helpful in regard to extending our stay. Also, in both rooms we repeatedly had to ask for a technician to fix the hot water system.

The pool is rather small and there are only about 10 lounge-chairs but most people seem to prefer the beach, and being shoulder-season, we didn't have a problem there.

Overall great - some renovation needed?

by Lee Parry from Cardiff, Wales, 2 Aug 05

Great spot, quiet but 5-10 mins walk to the action. Breakfast buffet overlooking the sea/beach a pleasure. Overall a great resort, superior room lovely - good size bed and bathroom/dressing room. Just a bit "tired" (lick of paint needed and a new roof on the restaurant!)
