Chaweng Villa Beach Resort Koh Samui Reviews & Ratings

We had to change rooms as the first one had lots of insects crawling around! The resort staff were very helpful and moved us to one of the building rooms which were lovely, much nicer than the bungalows which minus insects would have still been acceptable.

Very close to the beach with own sun loungers right on the sand. Unlike resorts we stayed in later on the holiday they actually had enough loungers for all guests which was good! Beach side restaurant is lovely with nice food.

Location is very central for main restaurants, bars clubs but as the accommodation is within its own grounds it is quiet for sleeping.

I really enjoyed my stay here, it was the first time I visited the island, staff was absolutely superb, the location was more than I expected, there was a certain romance about dining on the beach at night and laying on lounges sipping cool drinks.

The massage staffs were brilliant and are all qualified,I recommend them.

We had a wonderful experience at the Resort. Its the most convenient location for shopping and entertainment. And the beach too.

The staff was also very helpful. They made special breakfast for us. The cottage style living is very nice and definitely relaxing. You can get your own peace and serenity without being too far away from the action spots.

We would love to go there again.

My 2 friends and I stayed at this hotel in April of this year. Booked over the web and had not been to Thailand before so did not know exactly what we would get. Booked the deluxe bungalow and there was room for three of us comfortably. Room was spotless every day and the mini bar well stocked and very reasonable. Bathroom was a little basic with sever lighting LOL!!! Air conditioning is a must and I would not suggest a ceiling fan at this time of the year as the humidity was astonishing.

Breakfast by the pool was superb plus the little spa area provided some welcome relief from the sun in the afternoon. The pool may be small but it is cooler than the sea which was surprisingly hot so was a welcome relief. Hotel is in a great location and, although the main Chaeweng Beach strip is busy and fairly noisy, once you are in the hotel complex it is surprisingly quiet. The gardens are beautiful and spread throughout the complex and really make it stand out from your standard hotel type grounds and give the hotel a more boutique-type feel.

Would definers stay there again as it was great value for money and the staff were excellent and would recommend it to others.

Hey, we really liked the convenience of this place. Close to the action once you leave the resort but a relaxing haven in it.

Couldn't have asked for much more and provided excellent value for money.

Would recommend thoroughly.

Like the hotel, but hoped to get in one of their bungalows, not the 2 level building with rooms. The room was very comfortable, with good working AC, fridge, complementary water, pool towels, balcony (even though it faced the internal parking lot). The biggest issue was the beach. The Internet pictures don't show that there is a bank of dirt and rocks about 100 meters from the beach (creating like a lagoon), so you don't have the open ocean in front of you, no movement of waves at all.

If you go south a bit on the beach, 5-7 minutes walk you can get to the beach without the rock barrier. At that point there a bit of waves, jet skis for rent, but more people too. The sand area was fine, but not as wide as other areas that I have seen.

Food at breakfast very good and bountiful. Bring your hairdryer if you need one (they only had 1 to let someone borrow it).

Pool nice, but small. Not that many people in the pool so it was not an issue. Enough chairs (also on beach). You can buy drinks by the pool. Great location in Chaweng but still quiet. Until you walk to the main drag, you don't think you are in a noisy place.

Overall, I like the hotel, but wouldn't stay there again because I would want an open beach/ocean in front of my hotel. But for the good deal with got I am not complaining.

More or less as expected, just no sea views. The room was not really ready when we arrived, but all in all good value on Chaweng. We had to make sure that we get beach towels, not a big deal.

Agree with other review comments re small pool, location etc but having looked at a few other alternatives I think the value was very good. The beach has many better alternatives for night dining in close proximity. The size of the establishment was good so facilities were not over crowded.

We had a deluxe double, next time would take the intermediate level room (garden view), the wooden units looked a bit tired.

The location was very good and fairly quiet. Room numbers not too great for the facilities of the place even though it was a full house or close to a full house over our 10 days stay. Towards the end of our stay we looked at several alternative resorts/hotels, we found none that seemed to be competitive with Chaweng Villa given the excellent price attained through your booking service.

Within Chaweng Villa there are three levels of accommodation, we were in the dearest (Deluxe Twin). If I were to return I would book the middle level room, other than that the stay was a happy experience.

There are a lot of very good dining alternatives (evenings) in Chaweng. I would rate the other "on the beach" restaurants well ahead of Chaweng Villa for standards and value.

The resort itself is OK. But Chaweng is not the place for me. Too busy, too many shops, few good restaurants. And then the beach in front of the resort: not special at all. A muddy pool for toddlers. So we had to go far from the resort to get to see some real beach. Lamai is much nicer, not so busy and somewhat cheaper.
