Good

by Kayan, 15 Aug 07

overall is good. Just the bathroom is not very nice, the water is too weak for shower. The swimming pool is too small, but as I walk along the beach, I discovered that the size of the swimming pool in the other hotels are more or less the same.

Good hotel, great location

by Annonymous User from Australia, 14 Aug 07

We are two Australian 23 year old girls who stayed at Chaweng Villa for 5 nights in July. While we're not raving about this place, it is good value for money and is in a good location. We were staying in a garden bungalow which was really nice. Don't get too excited about the pool as it is really quite small but serves its purpose ok. There were construction works going on while we there right next to the pool which was quite annoying but should be finished now.

The hotel is really close to the nightlife so it is good for young singles who want to party at night and hang by the pool in the day but the place is far enough away that it is still quiet at night. The staff were not especially friendly and sometimes made us feel like we were a bit of a hassle but this was not a major draw back for us.

Overall pretty good hotel especially for what we paid. While there may be nicer places in the area with better service, you will almost certainly pay more. Friends of ours stayed up on the hill which got them a much nicer place for the same price (Best Western) but the taxi up and down the hill especially after a night out is a bit of a hassle.

Mr T- What a champion! Will be back

by Amalan Kumar from Sydney, AUS, 14 Aug 07

A very nice stay. Whilst the Wooden bungalows are basic the excellent service and location make up for it. Thanks to the great staff for continually opening the doors for us after we left the keys inside at least 2-3 times a day! Mr T our champion tour guide for sorting everything out for us, very flexible and willing to reschedule for us even with no notice.

The place is close to all the bars/restaurants- Green Mango, The Islander and is ideally located across the road from a 7eleven, even though Samui has more 7elevens then Australia! Will def stay again, hopefully end of the year. Highly recommend a massage by the pool, we had one and had to go back every day!

Not friendly staff

by Stephen from Malaysia, 31 Jul 07

Would not recommend to friends. Staffs were all not friendly at all especially to Asians. The wooden level room was terrible. There was stink wood smell when we entered the room. Location is convenient, there are lots of shops and stalls outside the hotel.

Chewang Beach Villas

by Michael Kavanagh from Dublin Ireland, 26 Mar 07

Stayed in Chaweng beach villa's for 3 nights, can't fault the place. We stayed in the basic bungalow's had hot water, a/c and a TV. The resort is right in the beach and very close to Chaweng strip so close to all restaurant's, pubs etc. Highly recommended.

We wont be going back

by Orla Dillon from Ireland, 19 Dec 05

The weather was terrible...it rained for 5 days non-stop and to be honest they were not prepared for all the rain. We had to change rooms because there was a leak in the roof. Breakfast was poor enough too.

Seeya next year!!

by Chris Wickens from Geelong, Australia., 8 Nov 05

I was originally booked to stay for 3 nights but ended up extending my stay to 9 nights! Excellent value for money when comparing other resorts around same location!!

Location of the resort was great, central to all the action yet quiet at night. I stayed in cheapest wooden split level bungalows. It was really comfortable (just OK for 2 people) and air conditioning was excellent.

Facilities were budget but clean and staff helpful and friendly. The included American breakfast (full buffet style) was awesome! The adjoining restaurant and beach BBQ at night was quite cheap and tasty with good menu selection all day.

The beach was clean and better than expected from other reviews although it was sheltered by an outer reef so swimming was slightly better further down the beach.

The pool was small but right on the beach but it was low season so there was plenty of room to kick back in the sun. Hotel tour desk catered for all tours, activities and motorcycle hire at reasonable prices.

I saved 400 baht per night off standard room rate by booking with this web site!! If you're looking for 5 star accommodation this place is not for you but overall Chaweng Villa is good value for money.

The resort itself is OK. But ....

by Ed den Hartog from Holland, Europe, 30 Aug 05

The resort itself is OK. But Chaweng is not the place for me. Too busy, too many shops, few good restaurants. And then the beach in front of the resort: not special at all. A muddy pool for toddlers. So we had to go far from the resort to get to see some real beach. Lamai is much nicer, not so busy and somewhat cheaper.

Excellent value

by Simon from Australia, 29 Aug 05

The location was very good and fairly quiet. Room numbers not too great for the facilities of the place even though it was a full house or close to a full house over our 10 days stay. Towards the end of our stay we looked at several alternative resorts/hotels, we found none that seemed to be competitive with Chaweng Villa given the excellent price attained through your booking service.

Within Chaweng Villa there are three levels of accommodation, we were in the dearest (Deluxe Twin). If I were to return I would book the middle level room, other than that the stay was a happy experience.

There are a lot of very good dining alternatives (evenings) in Chaweng. I would rate the other "on the beach" restaurants well ahead of Chaweng Villa for standards and value.

Good value

by Simon from Australia, 8 Aug 05

Agree with other review comments re small pool, location etc but having looked at a few other alternatives I think the value was very good. The beach has many better alternatives for night dining in close proximity. The size of the establishment was good so facilities were not over crowded.

We had a deluxe double, next time would take the intermediate level room (garden view), the wooden units looked a bit tired.
