WOW!!!

by Anonymous User from County Durham, United Kingdom, 2 Jul 08

An excellent resort, lovely friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for Chaweng if you don't want to be in the centre of it. Amazing local restaurant opposite hotel, half the price of the hotel food!

Only negative is the courtesy shower room if you check out before you need to get ready to go home... it's not very good. No hot water, smelly and cramped. But... everything else about the resort was amazing!!

Highly recommended!

by brenda from Los Angeles, 8 Jun 05

The location was great for us...about halfway between the airport and all the action in Chaweng. It's only a cheap ride to great restaurants and bars. I would highly rec this place for people looking for a little peace. The garden and beach setting is perfect for a little detox. Do not miss the spa! The women there are not only good at what they do, but bend-over-backwards accommodating. Restro is decent, as well. The staff let us check in at 8am, which was greatly appreciated.

I could live here!

by Lily from New Zealand, 18 Oct 05

Great location - far enough away from the main shops that its not too noisy and you can have an enjoyable swim at the private beach without being hounded by sales people, yet close enough that you can catch a cheap tuk tuk ride.
Lovely gardens throughout the complex makes you feel like you are in a jungle paradise.

The food and drinks at the resort were very reasonable which is great - i hate feeling like i need to leave the resort to get a good meal at a good price or cocktail.

Rooms were nice, lovely views and nice amount of privacy due to the gardens.

If your looking for a peaceful retreat...

by Elvira Wolland from New Zealand, 21 Nov 05

This is the second time I have stayed in this resort. I simply love the authentic Thai feeling of staying in cosy wooden bungalow surrounded by such a lush tropical colourful environment.

The beach is not very good - water is not clear, rocks and very murky- but you can always take day trips to other beaches. Its a lovely resort to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet, only 5min in taxi to town. I fully recommend it!

I'll be staying at Coral Bay again!!!!! Guaranteed!

by Barton Filipiak from Hickory, NC, 29 Nov 05

We loved it!!!! It's on the north end of Chaweng, away from the crowded, noisy streets. This is a good thing from my point of view. The beach in front of Coral is non-existent, but no big deal. My wife and I shared a 2-BR suite with another couple. It had an ocean view, and a nice little patio. The next time I am on Samui, I will definitely be at Coral Bay. While I didn't use it, my wife says the Spa is very good as well.

We will perhaps coming back another year, with pleasure

by Pellaton Serge from Geneva - Switzerland, 27 Feb 06

We are happy, it's was a good choice. But, one suggestion...: the day of our arrival, was the day of the annual fest for all the employees... and no announce was made at the reception... for a quiet hotel... the first night... to have music et so much noise until 3 in the morning was not a good thing!!! and when my son is going for ask to have a minimum of tranquillity at 2h30 am, the answer was : "if you wish, you can make the check out tomorrow morning et getting out" ... i can not accept this response, even if my son was nervous... except this accident, our stay was good.

We'll definitely go there again

by Stuart & Trudie Brennan from Australia, 31 Mar 06

We absolutely loved everything, the staff could not do enough for us. We had the best honeymoon in the world. Koh Samui is magic. We've decided we want to build our house, and furnish it exactly like our beach side bungalow!

Excellent!!

by Mirva Timonen from Helsinki, Finland, 9 Nov 06

The resort is situated in a very peaceful and quiet area with a beautiful beach!!The hotel is situated a distance from the c rowdy Chaweng area which is good.

The staff is very friendly, helpful and everyone speaks very good English!

The rooms are lovely, authentic Thai style and very good sized. Plenty of room!

The breakfast, meals and drinks in the restaurant are good and reasonably priced. We stayed there in late October and it was still very quiet and not many quests but still a lovely weather and lots of sun!

Exellent family and lovers hotel

by Vladimir from St.Petersburg, Russia, 2 Apr 07

Very nice place! Located a bit distantly from main activities, but it's no problems with bike. I have it for rent from the hotel. Lat day I give it back 9 hours later then should, but they did not charge me anything for it, just smile and say see you next year!

Service is fine and always very friendly staff.

Good territory, very quiet, green and clean. SPA is wonderful. My wife had problems with her back for the year after birthing second child and our doctors couldn’t do anything with it. After one massage pain has been gone up and all is good to now. Service in SPA is terrific. It's cost the money they charge.

Bungalow’s are perfect. It has all I need for holiday (TV with Russian channel also, DVD player, ref, safe, cattle with tea and coffee, nice design with natural wood, king size bad, nice wooden furniture and other).
For my first week on Samui I did not wanted to see anybody and just enjoyed sea, sun, my family and idleness. For this purpose all was fine.

What was not so good:

Beach is not so fine as on main Chaweng. It has stones in the water and especially during low-tide I have to be careful stepping into the sea. For my wife it was a small problem. Sand on the beach was OK, not many people and always free chaise-lounge

Breakfast was not very manifold and to the end of the week I feel tired from the menu.

No animation, sport facilities, kid’s playgrounds and other things like that, just beach, bungalows, restaurant and pool. For me it was OK and I was looking such a place and my son also did not interesting anything, except the sea.

We just swim, acquire a tan, sleep and eat. Other time we travel by motorbike around the island.

I would recommend this hotel for people who tired from crowd and noise of mega polis, and especially for honeymooners. We had 10 years from our marriage this year and this trip was my gift to my wife.
