We can't wait to go back!

by Kimberly Klimczak from New York, NY, 18 Jun 05

We loved this hotel. The rooms were well appointed and cozy. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. The meals were reasonably priced and it was in a great location, just slightly removed from the busy section of the beach so you could relax in peace and quiet.

Good value

by siggy from middlesbrough england, 27 Jul 05

This is a really good value hotel, we have stayed in both a seaview and a standard and is definitely worth paying the extra. Great location great pool area, the only fault we found was we stayed in peak season and on some occasions there was no sun loungers either by the pool or by the beach ,and we were most disappointedly to find that they also rent them out 250 THB per day to non hotel guests, but apart from that very impressed.

Is Great

by Desmond Doo from Paris, France, 5 Sep 05

My partner and I spent five days in this little villa boutique resort! We stayed in room 335. Although there were few noisy guests on our first few nights, but after they left, we'd really enjoy the hotel and surroundings. The room comes with a little balcony, where you can watch the people by the pool and yet no need be in the crowds. Enjoying the sun all by yourself.

Hotel staffs are friendly, Mr. Trin Sangsila and his staffs are all being very helpful and professional.

There is a plaza shopping just in front of the hotel, where you may enjoy a coffee under the sun or to get online at the Warner Studio Store, or buy some nice souvenirs from Iyara Shop.

Night restaurants are just few steps away, we didn't even bother to rent a motor bike as most people does.

If you are looking for a lazy relaxing place in Samui, Iyara is the best. You don't have to walk too far to get your needs, there is even a 7-11 convenient store in front of the hotel.

If you book this hotel try to ask for Room 335, the best room in the house.

Great Hotel - Read inside...

by Guy from Tel Aviv, 6 Feb 06

The hotel is very good, in a very very good location. (make sure to get a see view room)

Few comments:
The team doesn't speak good English, and it is hard to communicate when it is more than "I need a towel". Unless you are over 60 and wake up at 06:00 it is almost impossible to get a seat on the beach, they are very few!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect in every way

by Dianne Meram from Melbourne, Australia, 6 Jun 06

This is a fabulous place to stay in Koh Samui. Very close to all of the action, but not too close. It was quiet, relaxing and had a great island feel to it. It was a boutique hotel, so much more personal than the larger resorts. Very classy.

Nice place, nice room

by Mirjam and Stephan from Zurich, Switzerland, 20 Jun 06

We spent 8 nights there. The room was very nice, good idea with the wood. Very nice bathroom. We had some problems with the shower, because during showering the floor went wet (construction mistake, not so bad for us, but worse for the cleaning staff).

You can book DVDs for free for your TV (sometimes you have to wait, because there's only one channel for the whole hotel.) Staff is nice and helpful.

The pool is very nice and you have a restricted area at the beach for the hotel guests (so you don't get disturbed by the sellers at the beach). You can't go into the ocean very good from this location, because there's a bay and that's why the water is very shallow. You must walk to the left to get to the "Norma" beach. I recommend walking at least once to the right, that's where you have sun until the evening. The water there is also shallow, but you can walk around and chill in the ocean.

There's a shopping center around the hotel, but it's one with real brands, so it's expensive and almost empty all the time. You better go to the left into the center for shopping (cheaper shopping in Lamai) and eating or you look for a nice restaurant at the beach (we sometimes ate lunch at the beach (Sandwiches, Salad and Pasta); the prices are OK).

We enjoyed our stay at the "Iyara".

Second visit & Loved It!

by Paul from Melbourne, Australia, 18 Sep 06

We had previously stayed a few nights earlier in the year and felt as though we hadn't had enough so booked again for 8 nights in September 2006. Loved the hotel but would definitely recommend the sea view rooms to add that little bit extra. These rooms were very comfortable with a great view to the beach. The hotel is a little removed from the main part of the beach so it is a little quieter than others which we loved.

The staff were very helpful and courteous and really couldn't do enough to help.

The only little issue that we had is we were charged for an umbrella that was given by the restaurant in the hotel to another hotel patron. About A$7 but more disappointed with the lack of trust!

A most memorable and enjoyable stay

by Emma M from London, UK, 31 Oct 06

The Iyara was the most beautiful hotel. I stayed in the Deluxe suite, and I highly recommend upgrading to it if you can.

The normal rooms are fine, however the Deluxe suites just had that bit more room.

The service of the staff was perfect. They were helpful and did everything to ensure my trip was fantastic.

The food in the restaurant was excellent, with a great mixture of local and international options.

Cocktails by the pool is an absolute must!

Booking with AtSiam.com couldn't have been easier - the hotel was expecting me, and knew all had been paid for. I even changed my flight to get to KS earlier, and the AtSiam.com were happy to ensure my transfer was informed.

It was my first time in Thailand, and I hope that if I return, I'll be staying at the Iyara. I've already recommended that my parents take a trip there!

The best location in Chaweng .... can't wait to go back!

by Shevaun Bruun from Australia, 18 Dec 06

Just got back from 5 wonderful nights at Iyara. The location is definitely the best on Chaweng Beach and the beach Cabanas are the only ones really "on the beach". The rooms are very spacious and clean with large bathrooms and extra large king size beds. You could not find a better location in the whole of Chaweng.

Close to shops and walking distance to beach front bars and restaurants. Day spa and beach side massage was fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend but pay the bit extra and get either beach cabana or deluxe suite which has fantastic views as cheaper rooms are a fair way back in the complex.

They tried, and tried, and finallly succeeded

by Jil Hardin from Los Angeles, CA, 5 Jan 07

Typical of communicating in Thailand, there are miscommunication in almost every conversation, due to the language barrier. Although this can happen in many parts of the world, at least the Thai's are extremely friendly as they smile their misunderstandings away.

My frustrations built at the beginning of my stay, as the helpful, yet most times ineffective staff attempted to fulfill my requests; but all was set right in the world again when the manager of the hotel took care of our every need. He is 1st class, intelligent, and business savvy in the way that he continually takes care of his clients. Because of his effort, and the effectiveness in which he runs this hotel, I will return again to the Iyara. The restaurant needs great help, but with so many options around Chaweng, it doesn't really matter. For the rates that you can get on AtSiam.com, the Iyara is absolutely fabulous, and I would recommend this hotel to many of my friends...which says a lot.
