Stayed in September 2005. Rooms were very clean. Staff were great but I'm sure some cash went missing from my wallet from the supposedly very safe hotel guest safe.

We had four rooms in the reception building for four nights. We had great problems with the cleaning. They did not always change sheets and towels, empty wastepaper basket in toilet. The sink and the floor were not cleaned with water for all my stay.

The new manager, who only been there for some ten days, admitted they had problems, but he was not very polite or keen to give us a good explanation or discount for out fifth night. Very badly handled. Arrogant.

They have a lot of work to do to give value for money.

The restaurant by the poolside and the staff there were wonderful and the food excellent for a good price.

The hotel had about 40% of their rooms booked. When our friends were about to check out, they were called upon by front desk before 12 o`clock, and asked to leave the room. There was no need for the hotel to call them before noon.

Some other friends that did not have a confirmation, met at the front desk to book a room. They were told that only the suite was available even this was not true. Some Swedish guests experienced the same thing.

Honesty was not present. The beach was crowded with broken glass form bottles e.g. The seaward overflow was sent right out in the sea on the left hand of the swimming pool. The smell was horrible. The only thing we really appreciated was the staff at the restaurant.

Phanganburi Resort is an OK resort but it has a long way to go to be considered good value for money.

(a) My bungalow was OK but I expected a lot more for the money I paid. It wasn't always cleaned properly, and didn't really feel safe (we had 3 people walk in during the night as the locks on the door were very average). The air condition works great but they must do something about their showers.
(b) The employees of the resort are very friendly and helpful.
(c) The breakfast was ordinary. And the pool restaurant like wise... you can find much better food else where.
(d) The Location is ideal for couples and families - 10 mins walk to Haad Rin beach. However if you are a woman travelling alone or two girlfriends holidaying together, I would recommend a hotel closer to the centre as you will be walking back after partying in the dark for most of the way back.
(e) The Beach in front of the Phanganburi Resort is just terrible ... for a great beach you'll have to walk approx 15 mins to Haad Leela (you won't regret it!).
(f) Lovely pool areas.
(g) Overall this is a good resort for families... for the younger crowd who enjoy the beach life and partying... I would say re - consider.

I have been there two times. First at 2004 and the the second time at June 2007. First time I paid for the same room 750 baht and now 2,300 baht. The room was not clean and the air-condition very bad. The staff is unhelpful and rude.

It was our honeymoon so instead of being there for 5 nights we left after 3 nights. Don't go there they are not nice and expensive for the dirty rooms.
