Good but should improve service and communication
by sandra bantwell from France, 9 Aug 08
The Santhiya resort is very isolated.
Transfers available either by speedboat (scheduled 1,000 B/person one way) or bumpy road from Thong Sala pier on the other side of the island. The site is really spectacular but not convenient to disable persons (lots of stairs) and you spend your time calling electrical car to go from your villa to the pool and reception, restaurant, etc.
First booked a Suite seaview but view was obstructed with lower villa roof and trees folliage ! We had no problem changing villa but wasted our time. Has to request the extra bed (we were 3 persons) although I inquire by email before arrival and got confirmation.
Restaurants (2) are pricey but good. Spa nice with 4 stars resort prices.
Overall, resort could be exceptional if they improve the regularity of service and train their staff with English language (even basic, that could be helpful).

Know what to expect!
by Cliona O'Connor from Ireland but resides in Thailand, 21 Aug 06
This place was a construction site when I visited in early July. We were disappointed with it. It has huge potential and will be gorgeous in 2 or 3 years. Small things like no light bulbs in some of the lights and cement bags under the sink really took from the experience.
The pool is really nice but the beach is man made with huge stones but to be fair you can walk over the rocks to gorgeous neighbouring beaches.
My family and I have resorted to referring to it as FAWLTY TOWERS since as that is what it was like - nothing worked as it should and the hotel is a good 10 min walk from the beach and pool up a mountain - golf carts available but never there when you need them.
I would advise staying elsewhere unless they seriously drop their prices.

Supreme Deluxe Room and I am moving in...
by Marcus Tysk from Stockholm, Sweden, 29 Aug 07
We took the supreme deluxe room and I can really recommend everyone to choose this room. The area is so big, so they have golf cars taking you to the pool, restaurant etc.

A little heaven on Earth
by Jeroen Bakker from Maarssen, Holland, 31 Aug 07
We visited the Santhiya last July. Words are not enough to describe this experience. The service and rooms are outstanding we stayed for 7 night in a seaview villa.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The only thing i suggest is that the staff improves there english. But that's all. The Pool and other accommodations are excellent. It will cost you but this is a REAL resort and spa.
