Too expensive !!
by Eric ZUCKMEYER from France, 28 Dec 05
Too tough rooms, very noisy with the upper room, no possibility to open the window (!). Too expensive for this kind of hotel. No parking for the car. Good location in the middle of Ao Nang beach.

Good, as expected

We did not know much of Ao Nang beach when we booked. Several hotels look spacious when looking on the pictures, but the village is mainly a strip (two-three-four houses deep) of hotels, restaurants, tourist shops etc about two km long. Only a few exclusive places at the edges seem to have a lot of space. But it is nice anyway if you accept the tourist dominance.
We had a "family room" which is the same as a triple room. After we squeezed in an extra bed (for 500 Bath, incl breakfast - this was unclear from the booking). ) there was just enough space left for the chairs and table. Fresh and clean, we liked it.
A very good breakfast buffet in an airy restaurant.
The family rooms are quiet, off the street, two rows facing each other with two chairs and a small table outside each room. If you like to talk Swedish with the other guests (only Swedes during our stay, but Ao Nang seems to be dominated by Swedes during X-mas and New Year) you can sit here and take a stroll the few meters to the pool every now and then.
Friendly and helpful staff as seems to be the standard in Thailand.
We took two one-day tours during our stay: "4 islands by long tail boat" including snorkeling, by the company Barracuda. It was OK for a budget tour, nice experience. But the three times as expensive tour with kayaking among the mangrove and snorkeling in the Hong archipelago was generous and is recommended as first choice, despite the price.
