Right choice here

by Wanna from Thailand, 13 Jul 06

The hotel location is in Ao Nang area but a bit isolated and in the street so during the access is not so convenient. But inside the resort is very cozy and comfort. Room is very new and nice decoration. Staff is helpful and friendly so in general I am can say that I make the right choice to stay here.

A great hotel at AoNang Beach -

by Syvan and Tal from Tel-Aviv, ISRAEL, 2 Apr 07

Duang Jai resort was a cute little boutique hotel in a quite, yet convenient, location in Ao Nang beach. It looks like thought was invested in every details of the place. We arrived for 2 nights but decided to make it 3.

Because the place is small (only 20 rooms) the service was personal and the staff was very nice and willing to help. Each room has 2 separate levels - one for sleeping and the other for kitchen/bathroom and a little private garden at the back - which is very convenient and gives a feeling of privacy. The pool was very clean and inviting and the food at the local "restaurant" was great. The hotel is about 10 minutes distant from the busy "village" so we had some peace and quite but it was still easy to go out to the beach. We recommend this place very much, especially for couples (not families).

See You Soon

by Grant McFarlane ( Mac ) from London UK, 23 Oct 06

Lovely, friendly, quiet resort. The rooms are light & airy & they all overlook the, super, pool, which I think is a plus. Krabi is very quiet in September but the next time I find myself there I will stay at the Duang Jai.

A hidden gem....at least for now...

by Steven Wee from Singapore, 26 Dec 06

This is a new boutique resort and most ideal for couples and families. The rooms and the overall design of the resort is modern chic with a light touch of traditional Thai. The resort is heavenly secluded and it should bring you a sense of calm and peace (if they are not crowded.). It is not a far walk from Ao Nang (15 mins gets you to the beginning of the strip where there are restaurants).

The resort is only assessable through a side road and hidden away from the main activity area of Ao Nang, so the location is not convenient if you want to be close to the bustle of Ao Nang life. However its easy to catch a tuk-tuk so its not an issue. This resort is also not close to the beach. You have to walk about 10 mins to the closest Hat Napphorat beach. The beach is not great there. I would recommend to pack a day bag and spend the day at Railey beach or go to one of the nearby islands. But with such a beautiful resort, who needs a beach.

A must-stay resort for relaxing & an excellent time!!

by Daniel Ho from Singapore, 24 Mar 07

This boutique resort is great!! We simply love it. It is just few minutes walk to the main shopping area & the beach. Nice and quiet place, great for relaxing. As there is only 20 rooms, there is never a crowded scene in the resort at any time, even during breakfast.

Though the swimming pool is small, it is good enough for a relax swim. Service is great, no problem in communication. Very friendly & helpful. Definitely to return to this resort.

Cozy resort

by MA SHUMIN from Taiwan, 2 Mar 07

It's a boutique resort, cozy and comfortable. Especially the lamps beside the bed that so nice for reading! A distance from the streets for foods and shopping but quiet. The room is wide and bright.

Lovely quite and pretty hotel

by Gareth Davies from Scotland, 17 Mar 07

My wife and I stayed here in December 2006. The hotel had just opened earlier in the year and is a lovely small hotel with nice spacious, spotlessly clean rooms, comfy bed, large walk-in shower, large balcony overlooking the pool, a pleasant breakfast area with good selection of food, and friendly staff. The hotel is situated between Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara, up a very quiet street with nothing much around it. It is walkable to the centre of Ao Nang in about 10-15 minutes or you can get a motorbike taxi for just 20B per person, so it's not a major problem and is ideal if you're looking for somewhere quiet.

Duang Jai has the same owners as Ayara Villas in Khao Lak.

Would definitely go there again.

by Kristina from Berlin, Germany, 20 Mar 07

The resort is a bit away from the centre and when first seeing it we were frightened because the entrance looked like the back door. But when walking in, we were very pleasant surprised. Small lobby with breakfast room, all rooms situated around the nice pool with plenty of plants and flowers. The room was the best surprise, large and with a huge shower cabin that offered a nice view into our private little garden in the back. Very clean, breakfast alright. The resort offers shuttle to Ao Nang, but is also possible to walk there.
