Kaw Kwang Beach Resort Lanta Krabi Reviews & Ratings

If you have always dreamed of living in a bungalow on the beach, this is it. Now ... you have to be prepared to take a while getting there. The hotel can arrange a taxi to meet you at the airport (it's tricky arranging this all yourself and the price will likely be the same anyway) but depending on the traffic at the 2 ferry crossings, it can take from 1 1/2 - 3 hours to get to Lanta Island.

Once there, you'll need to rent a motorcycle to get much of anywhere except further down the beach, but these are cheap (200 Baht a day) and fun so no biggie.

It's very different from Ao Nang, but we certainly didn't miss the boom-boom till 2 AM from the night clubs at A.N. We checked out a couple places further down the island but this is the best value we could find.

Do be aware though that in the low-season, a number of things are not operating (like boats to some islands) or not worth trying to do (like snorkeling since the water is too murky. For snorkeling in the low season, Kata Beach on Phuket is much better.

Room itself very good, but bathroom very bad sickening smell. When complained they blamed the rain that night our 1st night. After 3 nights and after buying numerous chemicals at our cost could not get rid of bad unbearable sickening stink. Hot water turn off after 2 or 3 minutes, air condition not work properly. After further complaints got shifted to another room for our 4th and 5th night which was good.

Cleaning ladies done a good job. Breakfast poor and hot food cold. Management not very helpful or friendly. We had a beach front bungalow. Star rating should be a minus 2 for what they give you.
