Ocean View Resort Krabi Koh Lanta, Thailand

This place is located at the very southern end of Klong Dao beach, which is very beautiful. However the sea is rocky immediately in front of the resort so you have to walk for approx 1 minute for nice swimming.

The bungalow themselves were very clean, with a nice big bathroom with a bath and a hot powerful shower. The aircon worked great and the tv channels are also good, for instance they show live premiership football and new movies but you do have to ask for them to change to channels over as only one 'premium' channel can be watched at once and the resort owner likes to have the cartoons on to amuse her kids!

There was also a couple of power cuts whilst we stayed here, but i think these affected all of Lanta.

The only downside of this resort was that there are hardly any options to eat out in the evening. The resort has its own restaurant which is ok but tended to be closed every night by 9pm!! and we stayed here mid April in 2007 which is still high season! The only other option to eat out(unless u get a cab to Saladan) is the Royal Lanta resort next door (2 min walk) which does serve terrific food at very reasonable prices.

Overall I would recommend ocean view for a short stay, although if u can afford it stop at Royal Lanta next door which is extremely nice. Ko Lanta itself is a great place to chill out and get away from it all for a few days, I stayed for 5 nights which was enough, as there isn't much to do in the evenings. I definitely recommend hiring a scooter and touring the island though during the day, it was great fun and a beautiful island.

Pros:
1. Very clean. The cleanest room we have seen.
2. Everything looks new in the room, its all working.
3. Low-season prices are very resonable.
4. Very friendly staff that takes time to talk with the guests, not only the nessesary service talk.

Cons:
1. It's difficult to find anything negative to say but if there is anything it would be the slightly narrow choices of satellite chanels to the bungalows. They solve it by asking the guests what they want to see but what will happen when there is 15 people with 15 wishes?

2. Peek-season prices are to high for the longtime budget traveler and even the high-season price is somewhat high.
