I'm Thai. I'm not good in English but I will try to tell you. I reserved the room from this website. The location is good. you can go to the beach with a little time you will have a good view on your breakfast time but I disappointed with my room. It is on downstairs near the kitchen which I can smell all food odor all the time except when I sleep! but I can't sleep well all night because many mosquitoes! The sliding door to the balcony not good it has the space! The floor of the room has much of sand made me feel dirty. I want to know if I'm a visitor from the other country I can get better room? I think Thai people on PP island are not lovely people for Thai visitors! not except one of receptionist of PP Banyan villa .

Service: I wait for 2 hours to get in my room after check in.
Location: Good, convenient, sea view breakfast but a bit noisy.
Cleanliness: Brown stain in the toilet and dirty tap.
Rooms: Good on upper room, bad for some lower room.
Value for money: for me it's not fair

The rooms were clean and tidy. The air con was great however, it was a bit noisy if you stayed on the downstairs floors. Because the floors are made of floor boards, the noise from surrounding rooms echos really loud. Some nights it was difficult to get any sleep due to loud footsteps both from upstairs rooms and outside your door. If possible ask for an upstairs room at the swimming pool end, this should limit any extra noise from other guests.
The location of this hotel however made up for this. There is nothing better then eating breakfast on the beach, watching the long tail boats motor away for the day.

Stayed at Banyan Villa in Oct 2007...This was my 2nd stay at this specific hotel and hasn't changed from my 1st visit in 2006...Rooms are fine and serviced daily, so clean and neat...Room and hotel facilities a pretty basic and rated at +-2.5 to 3 Star...Location is great, 2min walk from the Ferry Pier, close to a number of Restaurants, Pubs and great shopping, although fairly close to beach front is also a 2/3min walk through the shopping area and small streets which is great fun, leading to the main swimming beach area which is stunning and typically Island Life...I would'nt recommend the Hotel Restaurant (TONSAI SEAFOOD) as the service and food for that matter is very very poor and not up to international standards...There are many better restaurants around the island within easy reach...
In general the Hotel and Restaurant staff are also very unpleasant except for the porters who are willing to take care of your luggage...PHI PHI ISLAND as a whole is Fantastic...Will be returning again soon...

We love the rooms, pretty and comfortable, extremely convenient to the pier, also pretty easy to have fun at beach.
We also had lot of fun even in the swimming pool. If you are looking a more silent place to stay, you may consider to choose another resort of a little inward.
In general, it is place worthwhile to stay.

The resort left us pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the low season and found it good value for money. Its right in the centre of town so within walking distance of everywhere you'd want to go. Breakfast was fine but you do find yourself waiting ages for eggs at times as they also sell the buffet breakfast walk in customers - tip:be there early if you can!! The pool had very few loungers but was nice.

We stayed at Banyan for 2 nights and as a family of 4 it was ideal for us. I took the advice in one of the reviews and requested an upstairs room near the pool which we got and it had a mattress on the floor for the children, who thought it was very comfortable. English speaking cable TV channels were limited but were out most of the time anyway. The pool was small but adequate, as the hotel wasn't too busy, there was also a shallow area for smaller kids.
Breakfast was fine although there was sometimes a queue for the eggs. However sitting on the beach front looking at a fantastic view at breakfast was a highlight.
Only downside was the smell from street which was directly below our room (door side) but wasn't unbearable, just little wiffy at times.

This was a comfortable clean hotel in central Phi Phi so was ideal for getting around. Not many sunbeds in pool area but to be fair we didn't actually go there as we were out and about most of the time. My only gripe was the smell of drains which permeated into the bathroom. Otherwise everything was fine.
