Will go back

by Don Eidam from USA, 14 Mar 06

The location is great. Nice pool and the beach was one of the best. Their restaurant for dinner was one of the best we had in all of Thailand. Our room was only so-so. We will go back, but would book the beach villa.

We really enjoyed our stay at good days lanta resort

by Sommer Peter from Germany, 28 Mar 06

We really enjoyed our stay at good days lanta resort. The people were friendly and the beach was great. The only thing to complain was the quality of the breakfast. They have a nice restaurant at the beach with good seafood, but the service is a bit slow.

Breakfast!!! stay in bed.......

by darren pattison, 25 Apr 06

The resort is fairly remote, however that is Lanta, full stop. The room was clean if fairly basic, and we had a sea pearl villa. The bathroom was open planned to the elements with only a mosquito netting full of holes and gaps between your naked butt and a hungry mossi.

One morning I had to ask for the net so I could rid the pool of flies etc myself.
The worst thing about this hotel is the restaurant and especially breakfast which was awful. I don't believe the buffet was refreshed from 7.00 till 10.00. We turned up about 8.30 - 9.00 and what was left, not a lot, was cold.

The staff were friendly enough and fairly helpful.

I will return

by brian goodwin from Seattle, WA. USA, 18 Dec 06

I really enjoyed my stay at Good Days resort, very nice beach and the new beach front bungalows are awesome, great views and very spacious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to a couple good bars, 5 min motor bike ride into Saladan.

Just what we were looking for

by BKY from San Francisco, CA, 29 Jan 07

The "New Superior Bungalows" were all that they were described to be. Clean, nice air-con, great views, VERY quiet resort. Not for the party crowd or singles. Restaurant at the resort was expectedly mediocre, but "Thai Cuisine Restaurant" is a 5 min walk (turn right) down the road and was truly memorable.

Dishonest desk staff, no water in pool

by keats from Sydney, 8 May 07

Firstly, the good. The new beachfront bungalows are great, really spacious. The large grassy garden which is shaded and lovely for sunset. The bad..this is at the 'dead' end of Long Beach, no action and a canal to wade through to access beach.

Staff the most unfriendly, corrupt and altogether creepiest we have encountered on 8 trips all over Thailand..only out to make commission on excursion sales, 'Chai' a completely dishonest sleazebag that put us all of the place. Lied about the pool only having problems since that morning..do they not think we speak to other guests? The pool is lovely but no water for 2 of our 3 days and then it was only just filled up, not cleaned nor treated. Chai asked us every avail minute if we wished to book on an excursion (which I booked elsewhere for 1,000 baht less) He lied that there were no mini coach places available so he could push us to book a private van and get more commission (plenty of places available we booked elsewhere).

The feeling at the place is very uncomfortable and I really couldn't recommend staying there in spite of its assets. I would recommend closer up towards Nakara and all the bars and restaurants. Have a few nights at Waterfall Bay at Anda Lanta...very nice. No Good times at Good Days.

Loved the Place- pity about the service!

by Anonymous User from Australia, 24 Oct 07

Recently stayed here in a large group of 9 adults and 4 children. Fabulous area for us as we had the place almost to ourselves! (It was low season) Breakfast, although included in our room rate was non-existent, or we were told what we were having! There were so many other lovely places to eat within a 5 minute walk though that it didn't matter and the room rate was still very reasonable without breakfast.

The location is excellent. Very quiet but a nice ride into the busier areas. We hired a Tuk Tuk bike from Jasmine mini mart just in front of the resort for 400baht a day which let us take the kids everywhere in relative comfort. It was also great for carting everyones bags/cameras etc.

The guy in charge was very pushy about excursions etc. and not very interested in providing any other service.

The rooms were lovely, ours was very spacious and was right in front of the pool- who could ask for more! Very comfortable for us with two small children. The rooms were well cleaned if you remember to put out your "Make up my room" sign.

I would definitely go back but be prepared to just sleep and relax at the 'resort' and eat and arrange excursions elsewhere!

Love Lanta, but this should be called Not-So-Good Days

by Anonymous User from Australia, 5 Nov 07

We recently returned from a 12 day stay at Good Days during low season. We booked the Beach House, which is three rooms to sleep 4 adults and 2 children.

Don't waste your money in booking these rooms! - Every time it rained, the front bedroom flooded and as there isn't anywhere but the floor to put suitcases these were flooded as well. The roof needs major repairs. Our requests to have this seen to were just met with blank stares from the person in charge - probably because we refused to book tours with him.

The rooms must not be used very often because they smelt very musty - obviously from where the rain has been getting in.

The rooms are functional but very very basic - you can get three separate bungalow rooms for the same price we paid for the beach house and I think that this would be a better option.

The resort itself is in a great spot - true you do have to wade across a channel to get to the beach but as long as you don't mind getting your feet wet this is no big deal.

As previous posters have stated - give breakfast a miss, there are a number of places outside the resort that do a great breakfast. As a matter of fact give the restaurant a miss altogether, the few meals we had there we waited hours for, they came out cold and one more than one occasion we were told by the person in charge what we were going to eat!!!!

The person in charge is really only interested in selling tours, probably because he makes a nice commission from this. He is completely disinterested in anything else that you may have an issue with.

Whilst we were there one of our party injured themselves badly at the resort (in the restaurant) and had to be taken for medical treatment at Lanta Hospital. The person in charge would not take her to the hospital unless she paid him 800 baht - You would have thought he would do all he could seeing as this happened at his hotel.

Other than the Manager of this hotel though, it is in a great spot, the newer rooms are really nice and spacious, the pool is large and relatively clean, and they were getting the gardens ready for high season when we left.
