Renovation needed!
by Lars from Sweden, 5 Jan 07
Compared to other hotels we had been staying at, this was in the upper price range so we expected a good hotel. It looked like it too, at first sight. Spacious lobby and nice surroundings with a fairly large pool in a big garden with orchids in several places.
But the rooms have seen better days. Many spots of fallen off paint in the ceiling in both rooms, walls also needed repainting. A mosquito net door almost falling apart and difficult to close. Tarned furniture. One bed lamp not working in one room, the other had none. The beds were good. The toilet in one of the rooms did not function due to lack of maintainance. And the water in all rooms in the main building just disappeared, it took 8 hours to get it back.
The staff was friendly as usual and we were helped with a bathroom in another building, maybe we could have changed rooms, but it was too late for that. The English was poor by all the staff, so I don't know if we got any reduction in price as requested (unclear booking via others).
Very little information about the Khao Yai national park, which is the main reason for coming here. But we did get help to book a taxi for a private 4 hour tour in the park, good value for money - the organized tours were very expensive and did not seem attractive to us.
The breakfast buffet was fair, except for the fruit juice.
Internet service extremely slow and not cheap.
